About this deal

When I first heard the energy of this new band's music, and the irresistible vocals of Alex Turner, I was drawn to it immediately. Keeping you in the loop with what is happening in our world - records from Domino Mart, news, discounts and exclusives. The all time classic debut album from the anthemic indie-rockers Arctic Monkeys, originally released in 2006 to hyper acclaim and winning a number of awards including a Brit, a Mercury and a Grammy nomination.

Last time such excitement surrounded a new British guitar band it was a decade earlier, as Britpop hit overdrive with the release of Oasis’ 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe.

and “God Smack” give Layne Staley a chance to explore a vocal arsenal that encompasses bluesy wails, unholy screams, and.

All of those bands have great albums and are some of my current favorites, but they aren't really traditional "rock" albums per se. Let me get this off my chest first: The Arctic Monkeys share exactly two common traits with The Beatles and Oasis - They're all British, and they're all rock bands. Released in 2006, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut album by English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. I understand the backlash against this band (and so does the band, if one listens to their new EP), as they have seen an unfair amount of hype and hyperbole. Released in 2006, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut album by English indie rock band Arctic Monkeys .It is however, an absolute stonker of an album and I highly recommend that if you haven't heard it yet, that you go and do so! THAT is what makes this album so impressive to me - the sum of its parts is stronger than any album I've heard in a long time. The guitar playing, drumming and vocals completely embody that angst which so many teenagers go through. in fact, this album ends so strongly that its ridiculous, with the great lyrics and varied sound of When the Sun Goes Down.

As catchy as those reference points are, it's the lyrics that have won this band a fiercely dedicated crowd very quickly. Many critics and figures in the British media hyped the Arctic Monkeys and their rapid rise to acclaim through unconventional means.

Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. When there is sound, it's honestly still a little quieter than my other records, but with the volume raised a bit (nothing unreasonable) it sounds just fine. The album includes their first two singles "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" and "When the Sun Goes Down", as well as re-recorded versions of both tracks from the band's debut EP, Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys. With their kicky hooks, the songs owe more to Warped Tour thrashers than to stoic post-punk inspirations. He has contributed to MOJO, the BBC, The Guardian, Q and NME among others, and has interviewed Arctic Monkeys on many occasions. This album could be a blueprint for an imagined future; a reminiscence of the past; or your existence now. With his later side projects (The Last Shadow Puppets with Miles Kane, and the soundtrack to the film 'Submarine'), he has become one of my favourite young musicians. No band will ever be the Beatles, and Oasis have two great albums while the Arctic Monkeys have only released one album to date, and its a totally different style and sound than Oasis.
