About this deal

Durable and Reliable: Constructed with high-quality materials, the SC32 HCRI is built to withstand daily wear and tear, ensuring long-lasting durability. It is also IPX8 waterproof rated, providing reliability in outdoor and wet conditions. Specifications: ANSI FL1 standards: The runtime is measured until the light drops to 10% of its initial output (30 seconds after turning on). This does not mean that the flashlight is not usable anymore. The last column shows how long the light actually works till it shuts off. If there is a + symbol, it means that the test was stopped at that particular point, but the light was actually still running. This happens on certain occasions, with certain drivers, firmware, or batteries. Peak beam intensity and beam distance measurements Long-lasting Battery: With its efficient design and utilization of a single 21700 battery, the SC33 can provide extended runtime. Experience up to 11.5 hours of continuous use on the low mode, allowing you to rely on this flashlight for prolonged outdoor adventures or emergencies. Surprisingly, the bezel is not glued down. Not only that but the threads are lubed. Usually manufacturers don’t want you getting into the bezel, but on the SC32 it’s wide open, meaning emitter swaps will be a breeze.

On the other side of the light, the head has some cooling fins cut into it, which are identical to those found on the Wurkkos TS10. That’s where the comparisons end, I promise. In another interesting move, the USB-C charging port is on what I consider to be the front of the light, above the make a model markings. The SC32 has a narrow rubber cover for the port, unlike other Sofirms which have a larger square cover. It fits fairly snugly, but is not too difficult to remove when you need to charge. Next to the charging port is a status light which stays on for 5 seconds when you first turn the light on, displaying in green when charge is good, solid red when it’s low, and flashing red when it’s critical. It also flashes red while charging. This light definitely needs thermal recalibration. I set the room temperature to [accurate] – 22°C. Then I set the temperature limit to around 55°C. That means there’s a broad range of operating temperatures for the light to work – from room temp 22°C, all the way to 55°C. Th e Sofirn SC31T retains the SC31 series single 18650 lithium-ion battery configuration. Sofirn could have gone with a 21700 cell to bring it into the 21st Century, but I like the 18650 form factor in this light since it keeps the size and weight down. If you want extra runtime, you can easily swap in a high capacity 18650 like a Sanyo GA or Samsung 35E and go on down the road. Here’s my UI table! This table doesn’t cover the aux and switch LEDs, but they’re somewhat configurable too. State The threads on this light are very smooth. They’re square-cut, sort of long, anodized, and again… very smooth.

Yes. The LED indicators in the side switch will flash red rapidly, and when the battery hits 3 volts, the light steps down to a very low level. After a while, the light will shut down. This is a solid performer at a low cost. The dual switch interface make it reasonable for tactical purposes, as do the dual springs. USB-C charging works well, too. Output doesn’t quite hit the specification, but more importantly, the throw does. Long Review The Big Table Sofirn SC31T Tactical Flashlight

As always, I took my measurements at 30 seconds after turn on. The lowest modes didn’t quite meet specifications, but the fresnel lens proved its worth in the higher modes as I measured over 13,851 cd on turbo, pushing the throw 21 meters farther than spec! In my review copy of the Sofirn SP35 ATR flashlight is a Luminus SST-40 emitter, in 6500K. This emitter is surrounded by a smooth and quite deep reflector. Interestingly the Highest of the stepped modes also steps down pretty heavily, again to around 200 lumens. I don’t observe low voltage protection when testing with the bench power, but I’m assured Andúril has it! In my review copy of the Sofirn SC31T tactical flashlight is a Luminus SST-40 emitter, in 6500K. This emitter is surrounded by a smooth and quite deep reflector. These beamshots are always with the following settings: f8, ISO100, 0.3s shutter, and manual 5000K exposure. For reference, here’s a baseline shot, with all the room lights off and almost nothing hitting the sensor. Also, here’s the light with the worst PWM I could find. I’m adding multiple timescales, so it’ll be easier to compare to the test light. Unfortunately, the PWM on this light is so bad that it doesn’t even work with my normal scale, which is 50 microseconds (50us). 10ms. 5ms. 2ms. 1ms. 0.5ms. 0.2ms. In a display faster than 0.2ms or so, the on/off cycle is more than one screen, so it’d just (very incorrectly) look like a flat line. I wrote more about this Ultrafire WF-602C flashlight and explained a little about PWM too. User Interface and Operation Sofirn is using a Luminus SST-40 emitter in the SC32. This emitter is coupled with a TIR, and offers a great beam profile. Much like the switch cover, this TIR has a ripple effect.

The Sofirn SC32 Mini Tactical flashlight is controlled by a single e-switch. The switch is on the tail and has a nice ripple pattern. This might not be a metal switch, but it’s not soft. It’s very pleasant to use, really. Powerful Illumination: With a maximum output of 1300 lumens, this small flashlight delivers a bright beam that illuminates your surroundings with clarity and detail, ensuring excellent visibility in various situations. The numbers for candela were obtained with a UNI-T UT383S luxmeter at 5 and 15 meters, then averaged. Low was measured at 1 meter. Mode Okay, we all know Sofirn is an OEM factory making lights under their own brand, and making them for other companies (Wurkkos, and masquerading for Astrolux occasionally). Either way, they’re a popular brand. My first unmodified flashlight was a Sofirn SP10S I bought in early 2020, and this is a good illustration of how Sofirn has become firmly entrenched in the flashlight enthusiast’s repertoire.Part of how they did this is by making lights we want to buy, selling them for cheap, and catering to the customer while improving and launching new products. So far it’s worked, since if you identify as a flashlight enthusiast, you probably have a Sofirn light. ATR technology: ATR will adjust the brightness level automatically when the temperature of the light reaches 55℃ (122 °F) to prevent overheating.

There is also a USB-A to USB-C charging cable included, which is a good one to use, as the charging port is recessed and in somewhat of a tight space. If the plastic head around the USB-C plug is too wide, it won’t fit.The switch has brightness settings, and can also do some “breathing” type features. It does seem to be green only, so the Andúril features used to change the switch color don’t do anything here. High reliability: Rated at IPX8 water resistance, the EDC light is able to withstand extreme weather conditions. Our handheld flashlight is made of solid aluminum alloy; with such a solid body, this portable flashlight is impact resistant and will survive a direct 3-foot drop. Powerful Performance: The Sofirn SC33 is equipped with a boost driver, delivering impressive performance and maximizing the output of its high-quality LED. Experience enhanced brightness and performance. The SOFIRN SC32 HCRI is the high CRI version of SC32. It is a versatile and high-performance flashlight designed for everyday carry, outdoor adventures, and professional use. It features a hight CRI Nichia 519A LED with high color rendering, making it perfect for tasks requiring accurate color recognition. The flashlight is equipped with a reliable USB-C rechargeable system, eliminating the need for disposable batteries. With its maximum 1300 lumens output, it provides bright illumination for various scenarios. SOFIRN SC32 HCRI offers superior color rendering, long-lasting performance, and exceptional usability. The cell goes into the light in the “usual way” (which is to say that the positive terminal of the cell goestoward the head).
