Play continues until the architect has drawn their last tile and everyone has placed it in their own forest. But without knowing which numbers have been removed at the beginning of the game, will the odds pick the tiles that would be convenient for you?

We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada.

This token indicates which player will get to choose a Tree token first when placement is triggered during the course of the game. Due to the lack of luck, and the ease of explaining the game, this is one of my favorite tile placements I have played in a while. I know it’s to add a competitive aspect, but in reality it just means if multiple players need those trees, whoever randomly goes last that round is the one who ends up getting messed up. You will face off against other world builders who will work with the same materials that you have to see who can build the greatest forest world. At first, it felt a little strange that the Architect is ‘in charge’ but you quickly realise all players have equal opportunities. Each player may take a tree of any color and add it anywhere on their board such that it’s clearly in a space matching its color. Points are earned by creating whole runes on the forest floor, each tile has half a rune on each coloured edge and will need to join other tiles matching its colour to create full runes. Each player has the same numbered World tiles, and play them at the same time on their individual planet to create color and Rune match-ups. Example: In this example, the Tree token in the Closed L-shaped Pink Zone scores 8 victory points (4x2), because it has 4 Full- Runes.Though there are some influential choices to be made, tile selection is out of your control and sometimes it’s nice to be out of the driving seat! As tiles are drawn, the color of number in the corner of the tile will determine the actions that must be taken. Each player counts up their points – full runes in the areas with tree tokens are counted, with those in closed areas counting double.

The mechanics are simple enough to teach a new player in a matter of minutes, yet it still has enough depth to keep seasoned gamers happy. Find the best placement for each tile and skillfully place Tree tokens to score the most victory points and win the game. C. The Architect shuffles his tiles face down (with the exception of the tile, which is already face-up on the table).This is pretty hard to do, to be honest, but towards the end of the game you might be able to cost another player a few points by taking a tree that would have let them score. On its surface, Legendary Forests seems like a fairly simple game, but if you dig a bit deeper…well, it’s still pretty simple.

After the last tile has been played, each player totals their points and the player with the highest score wins the game! You score by placing little trees on zones and hoping you can close them out before the end of the game. Each player has an identical set of tiles and plays the same tile at the same time to their own tableau, but where each player places each tile may differ.All players place their tile in their unique world, matching sides so that it touches at least one side of an already-laid tile and it matches colors with all sides that touch another tile. I would even have been fine with some way to keep the tiles separated, but we ended up with nothing. As with most tile-laying games, the two edges of the tiles you connect must match and you have to place a tile such that it matches up edge-to-edge against another tile. Because the game is so simple, there is a very real possibility that younger players will enjoy this game and be able to be competitive.
