About this deal

The electric e-Boxer is similar: it isn’t particularly complicated, but it gets the job done. Although the payload of the electric e-Boxer is limited to 1,150kg in the biggest version, that figure is competitive with other electric vans. It feels largely the same as the regular Boxer: tidy enough, but not up to the standard of newer rivals from Mercedes and Renault. Those are two-year intervals - so whichever is sooner - though Peugeot also says heavier users should plan to see a service centre every 12,500 miles or one year. This is called Installation Provision Made in Design and in the case of MIV / BOXER, they identified the future requirement to fit an Active Protection System. At their max, those are both an increase over the 24,000-mile intervals of the Euro 5 2.2-litre engines, themselves a significant improvement over the Euro 4 models, some of which require servicing every 12,500 miles. The ride quality is passable, but the Boxer is showing its age when compared to newer rivals, with more bounce when unladen, and more body roll in corners when compared to vans such as the VW Crafter. George Barrow is the UK judge for the International Van of the Year, the prestigious prize awarded by leading European LCV journalists. The driver’s seat has plenty of adjustability, but the steering wheel is mounted quite low and flat. From the outside you would be forgiven for not realising the Boxer is a newer model. Having undergone just one overhaul since this iteration of Boxer was launched in 2006, the looks acquired during a 2014 facelift, which predated the introduction of the first Euro6 engines in 2016, remain the latest round of changes. In fact, even the exterior modifications in 2014 did little to alter the Boxer’s overall look – the badge changed position and prominence, and the grille becoming slightly larger, but the overall appearance is fairly similar to the 2006 design. Still, when you're moving, the e-Boxer keeps pace with traffic reasonably well at urban speeds, while cruising at 60mph on the motorway isn't a big deal - the van's limited to 75mph anyway, and the range will take a major hiding if you go any faster. The van offers some energy recovery when you lift off the throttle, but we found it to be a bit inconsistent. Sometimes the van would slow fairly progressively, while at other times it seemed to coast along. There's no facility to adjust the level of energy recovery. Not only is Ana a successful boxer, but she’s also an advocate for normalizing female boxing. In 2008, she participated in a campaign to open a female boxing category at the Beijing Olympics. The change didn’t happen then, but no doubt her efforts helped to open this opportunity for the 2012 London Olympics. Additional passive and active protection systems can be fitted. The Australian specification, for example, called for very high protection levels, STANAG 4569 level 6/6+. For the Australian vehicles, based on the A2 configuration, the local situational awareness system will be provided by Tectonica

A short range and low power mean that the electric Peugeot e-Boxer fits a very specific brief in the large van market. If you need a vehicle that majors on cargo volume, rather than payload weight, and you plan to do only a few miles each day, then it's worth considering. But there are better electric vans out there that feel better integrated with their electric running gear. The similar Fiat e-Ducato is a case in point, and should be the template that Peugeot should adapt to if it wants the e-Boxer to be more competitive.

Plenty of variants

Argentine boxer Yesica very much deserves her spot on this list of hottest boxers; The Ring and BoxRec gave her the title of the world’s best active female light-flyweight. Additionally, Yesica held the WBO female light-flyweight title for four years. Ensuring that Boxer has sufficient size, weight and power for future requirements will help identify capabilities that may need to be integrated. Is there anything hotter than a woman who ranks as the world’s best active female welterweight boxer by both The Ring and BoxRec? Trench crossing is 2m, step climbing 800mm, gradient 60%, side slope 30% and it has a ground clearance of 500mm. Mobility is reported to be excellent with all wheels being driven, the front two axles steering with selectable four-axle differentials and two inter-axle differentials.
