About this deal

If you're looking for slippers that look like boots but provide the comfort of slippers, consider this option from Sorel. The heel and the tongue come up your foot just above ankle height and then drop below your ankle, giving you freedom to move your foot around. The upper uses knitting fleece for a quilted style to match your favorite sweater. With an exposed faux fur lining and horn button, they’re classically good-looking. They come in 13 colors, so you can always match your slippers to your lounge outfit.

Loafers: This timeless, versatile option blends the cozy loungewear aesthetic with classic elegance. Closed-toed, they have a slip-on style and feature a minimalist design, typically offered in leather and suede. The rubber sole provides traction on any surface, plus you can wear them outside. If you do, you’ll be happy to know they are also machine washable. The two-tone waffle knit design looks and feels high-quality despite being lightweight and bendable. We also love the unique color options. The shoe’s outsole is one of the most important features to consider for safety and stability. Many slippers are designed with a durable rubber outsole, providing grip and traction to prevent slipping and sliding on a variety of surfaces.

One of the things I noticed while wearing the slippers was shedding. According to Glerups, the first three or four weeks are the toughest on the wool, and they will shed, which is a normal occurrence due to the natural treatment of the wool fiber. If you love wearing classic Crocs in your everyday life, you’ll love this plush-lined version, designed for the indoors. The lined clogs have the same shape as traditional Crocs but have a faux fur lining to keep your feet warm. We found the lining to be overly warm, even with the breezy rubber upper, so we recommend these for winter use. The high-quality slippers look and function just as well after three months of daily use. The wool is a bit difficult to clean, but a damp cloth wipes the dirt away easily. If you’re a strict no-shoes-inside-the-house family, we totally get it: Wearing your shoes inside can feel like you’re bringing the dirt, mud, and grime of the outdoors into your clean home. Plus, who wants to wear their work heels, walking shoes, or sweaty gym sneakers inside, anyway? But, as it turns out, going barefoot at home actually isn’t great for your foot health. Thankfully, there’s an easy solution: wearing comfy, cushiony indoor slippers with arch support.

But in all seriousness, they are great shoes disguised as slippers. A friend of mine has some, and she swears by them, but she only wears them in the house and around the yard. On the other hand, another friend wears them and adorns them with Jibbitz. I get it. They're comfortable. They don't smell (yes, I have been smelling them), and they're worth it. As I'm writing this, I found out that Crocs sells an actual slipper. Something I wasn't aware of when testing started. We'll have to put them to the test in the next round. There are a few main styles of slippers that you can consider when shopping. This will be the first step in determining the right slipper for you, especially if you’re interested in how fashionable your slippers look.

Shopping for a dad, brother, or husband? Opt for these stylish and functional suede leather moccasins from Lands’ End. Available in four colors and both medium and wide sizes, the suede upper looks undeniably sophisticated and mimics a fashionable loafer, while the rubber sole provides traction on all surfaces, including the driveway or sidewalk. Overall, it was like wearing a shoe. Which, to me, was the problem. They felt more like a shoe than an actual slipper and were too bulky for my taste. Looking at it from a slipper aspect, they were warm, comfortable, and fit well. The care instructions say they are machine washable, but I didn't wash them because I felt it could damage the structure of the slipper. If these were less shoe-like and more house slippers, I would have enjoyed them more. Getting in and out of a slipper is arguably one of my top priorities, which is why I chose the Ugg men’s Scuff Slippers. They're light, soft, comfortable, and easy to slip on and off. The Ugg Men's Scuff Slippers are my go-to slippers because of their craftsmanship, style, and materials like suede uppers, Uggplush material of upcycled wool and Tencel, and suede outsoles. Sure, there's no arch support, but these are the slippers you will wear when you get out of bed on a cold morning and stumble to the kitchen to grab your first cup of coffee.
