About this deal

The rain cover just requires slipping on and Velcroing at the bottom, with a handy slit for the handlebar to go through so that it covers the buggy completely. Adele found it took a little figuring out and wasn’t included in the instructions, but she found it straightforward once she’d sussed it. What’s the storage like? Like other pushchairs in the Silver Cross range, the Jet is classic, simple and understated. The materials feel middle of the road, but the handlebar and bumper bar are covered in leatherette which give them a high-end feel. Sometimes when lightweight buggies are narrow, they can be unstable and easily lose their balance. This isn’t the case with the Jet. Does your baby nap comfortably in it? Yes, definitely, when he still did such a thing. The Jet was really useful for buggy naps between the ages of 4 to 12 months for us. See above for details. It’s biggest advantage, in my opinion though, is how it folds to the size of a small suitcase and can be wheeled like one too.

While the Jet does boast a handy protective sleeve to store the bumper bar, our tester found the 1kg capacity shopping basket to be small in contrast to most of the other buggies she tested, especially the Micralite ProFold.

All in all, the Jet is a sturdy buggy and was more than strong enough to hold our tester’s bouncing three-year-old during our rigorous testing period. Are there any extra features? We took our car seat on all our family trips last year as we found it more convenient to travel with one, and being able to pop it on the buggy rather than be another thing that needed carrying was awesome. Under seat storage The Silver Cross Jet is the first travel stroller I bought and it literally came around the world with us in Miles’ first year. I used it every day in New York for 7 weeks and also travelled with it to Australia, Singapore and Greece, as well as on various UK trips.

The 2020 and 2019 models of the Silver Cross Jet are compatible with the same infant car seats, but the 2020 Jet requires a different car seat adapter. The leg rest is extremely simple to adjust with a gentle squeeze then push or lift. Our tester’s three-year-old still used it when out and about in the buggy, but Adele felt it might be better suited to a slightly younger child. With the stroller weight, capacity, and dimensions staying the same, both the 2022 and 2020 versions of the Silver Cross Jet are among the lightest and most compact strollers on the market, meeting carry-on requirements for major airlines. Weight Limit Out of the box, the Jet requires minimal assembly and no tools for set-up. It took our tester just five minutes to get the buggy ready to go as all she needed to do was to slot the wheels into place. There’s extra padding in the seat but it’s still generous enough that my long-legged 16 month-old sits in it comfortably. The Silver Cross Jet has a unique fold, which can be accomplished by pressing two buttons on the handlebar before pushing a lever up with your foot to release all parts of the pushchair.

Although we haven’t had a chance to fly anywhere this year (yet) the Jet has been updated for 2020 and Silver Cross kindly gifted me one to road test in the UK over the last couple of weeks. If you are deciding which travel stroller to buy, I hope the below sheds some some light on the pros and cons of these leading models. I think they are both excellent choices of travel buggy, and I’ve enjoyed using each of them in slightly different circumstances. It feels better to push too. I worried that as Miles got bigger the Jet might not feel as sturdy, but the wider wheels seem to to counteract his weight really well. The 2020 Silver Cross Jet includes a whopping 62 upgrades that give the stroller a more premium look and feel while adding comfort features for both parent and child.

Silver Cross still make their Classic Heritage coach built collection in Yorkshire by hand using traditional methods passed down from generation to generation. Silver Cross is a trustworthy brand with a reputation for quality and safety. The latest version includes a comfier seat, stylish new look and wider wheels for better suspension, all of which have been great for getting out and about locally. The Silver Cross Jet has been upgraded for 2020
