About this deal

Rnd 6: Sl st into a ch 5 sp, Ch 3(counts as DC), put 4 more DC in same sp, Ch 2, 5DC in same sp (first corner made), *5 DC in next sp, [5 DC, Ch 2, 5 DC] in next ch 5 sp, repeat from * around ending with 5 DC in last ch 5 sp, sl st to ch 3 st. (60 sts around) Just be careful when you put the cover away for Winter. I swear that I put mine in the glove box, but I can't find it anywhere! Good thing these seat belt covers are easy to make. It looks like I need to make some more right away! When I decided to do a “car series” for this year, I ran it by my family members to see if they had any amazing ideas – which of course they did. 😉 When we discussed the seatbelt cover my mom (who recently underwent breast cancer treatments) mentioned that this would be a great thing for those undergoing chemotherapy to use in their cars. This car seat belt cover pattern is free and will always remain so, but if you have enjoyed using it and would like to buy me a brew, it will be much appreciated! You can find the donation button on the sidebar on the left hand side. Thank you! xx Rnd 4: In any sc, ch 3, 6 DC in same st, *Sc in middle st of shell, 7 DC in next sc, repeat from * around, sl st to beginning ch up 3. (8 Shells)

Drive down the road in style with this boho seat belt strap cover! It’s a perfect cheery looking accessory just in time for spring!! This was a great project to use up some scrap yarn from my stash. Don’t want to cover that seat belt strap!? Don’t worry! This video still offers you a 3D granny square design that would make a fantastic blanket! If you have any confusion or difficulty with reading this pattern, please watch the video tutorial to have visual instructions. NOTE: For both comfort and stability, we recommend that at least one of your fabrics is a soft fleece or Minky. Any scrap yarn (I used worsted weight size 4 Medium yarn by various brands – Lion Brand, Red Heart Yarn, Brava-WeCrochet)

Cut a small piece of velcro, and take your fabric and velcro outside to your car. Fold the rectangle around the seat belt and mark the edge of where the fabric overlaps with a straight pin. Use the pin as a guide to help you place your velcro on the fabric. On step number five above, you see the velcro placed on top of the fold. You will actually place the velcro in that same spot, but under the top layer of fabric. Attach one layer of velcro to the underside of the fabric and the other layer of velcro to the fabric next to the pin. My dad will continue to be the videographer, editor, and photographer for our videos when I move away.

I switched to a standard foot to sew on the Velcro. Stitch about an 1/8″ from the edge of the velcro around all sides. If the needle is to the left, you can use the center mark on the foot as a guide. Make sure one part of the velcro is on the outside. Now you and your kids can safely and comfortably ride with your seat belts in the correct position. Honestly, I wish I had thought of this years ago! and continue to the end of the round, ch1, turn, work to the 2 chains. Then insert your hook into the gap created by the chains and work 2 dc into the gap.

Once you have one side sewn, fold the side over to help align the other side. I usually just eyeball this for something small. If you want it to be more accurate, use a ruler aligned with the edge and mark it.

Please do not copy, sell, and/or post this pattern and claim it as your own. Materials you will need: The port used for the chemo is placed on the chest, right about where the seat belt goes and can be super uncomfortable. So, this could be a thoughtful thing to do for your loved one if they are undergoing chemo treatments as well! Make 2 squares, then sew them together on one side. Add buttons or velcro to close the piece and fit around your seatbelt. (see video tutorial for visual instructions)I used 1.5” buttons because that’s what I had on hand, but you could definitely use smaller buttons too. Anything 1” or bigger would probably work. Is Faux Fur Yarn Hard to Crochet With? I will admit that it may not be the easiest yarn to crochet with, but the results are so worth it! It may take a little trial and error at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will be flying through this pattern. If you are using two different prints, fuse the fleece to the fabric that will be on the outside of the seat belt cover (from here on out I’ll refer to the fabrics as “outside” and “inside”).

Fhdc – Foundation Half Double Crochet (this is easier to start due to the nature of the yarn, as it is difficult to see your stitches.)Begin by cutting your fabric to size, and then fold it in half with the right sides together. (See image.) This is how I store small bits of ribbon. I wrap it around index cards, folded in half, and secure with plastic paper clips.
