You can rest assured that you’re in good hands when using the Bosch Rotak 32R to maintain your lawn. This Bosch battery mower is fine for normal conditions, dry and lawns that are not out of control. I would always advice cutting the lawn regularly to get the most from a battery powered mower in this class. As with all smaller cordless lawn mowers the grass box is not going to hold as much as its larger counterparts, however 31 litres is comparable to other mowers of this size. 31 litres allows longer periods of use without needing to empty grass clippings as often.

The only possible downside for some users was the fact that it took them a while to assemble it, but once everything was finished they were very pleased with the end result and the effectiveness of the product. I did a test on a similar powered Worx mower and took it over my local park to see just how good it is on more demanding grass. I did surprisingly well, however it was dry. You will notice that I am tilting the mower up on the first pass and gradually reducing the height, this gave me around 15-20 minutes of run time.

Bosch Rotak 32 Review – Cons

The charge to mow time ratio is really very good for a cordless mower at this price point. Ideally you will choose a mower that has enough run time to mow your entire lawn or lawns, but this mower allows you to have a tea break, recharge the battery in 45min and then continue. If your lawn is less than 300m² then this is not going to be an issue or a feature you will use, but with a 45 min charge time (to 80%) this mower is still an option for larger lawns. Maneuverability –The light weight means the mower is so, so maneuverable when you’re mowing. Corners are a breeze and pushing this thing will definitely not tire you out. Fact! Below I’ll be detailing all the features and functions of the Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergo-Flex, both good and not so good and then comparing to the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300 so you understand exactly what you’re getting for your money. The Rotak 32 comes with a 31 litre box that’s easy to empty and a powerful and sharp 32cm blade that cuts the grass with precision and ease. They found the cord to be of reasonable length, although if you have a larger garden you may want to use an extension as well. At this price range, this really gives great value for money and you would be very hard pressed to find a cordless mower that performs this well and has such a good build quality for this price. To get the best out of this mower you will need to cut your lawn more regularly and not let the grass grow too high or dense as it may struggle to cut it, this is however common with all cordless mowers at this price point and specification. The extra features like the removable safety key is a nice touch, but one that you will most probably never use. Besides, you want features that will help you achieve a lovely looking lawn with least the amount of work and effort. The Rotak 32 lawnmower is quite powerful and user-friendly and is ideal for small and medium sized gardens of up to 150m².The Rotak 32 is designed to help you maintain your garden in perfect shape, and is easy for everyone to use, even if it’s their first time using a lawnmower. This cordless mower comes with both a 36V, 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery and charger. The battery, which has three charge indicator lights, is fully charged in 70 minutes and its run time is the equivalent of cutting a short, 6cm, dry lawn of up to 150m2 or an 8cm dry lawn up to 100m2. However,this does depend on lawn conditions, density, moisture content and length as well as height of cut and this capacity can also be increased by purchasing a higher capacity Ah battery from Bosch. It’s also worth noting that the battery and charger can be used with the other cordless tools in Bosch's 36V Power For All range, and could save you money if you were to buy their hedge trimmer, leaf blower or grass trimmer. This mower does come with a built in comb that helps prevent scalping your lawn if the setting is a little too low or there is an uneven patch. This is a nice touch not found on other mowers in this class. The comb also helps to ensure you get a good cut right up to the edge along flower beds, fences and walls.

There is also a fill level indicator on the grass box that indicates when the grass box needs to be emptied.

A fully charged battery can mow up to 300m² or around 30 minutes run time depending on length and condition of the lawn. Again, this outperforms the Flymo at 250m², well done Bosch. Now, 90 minutes is in itself very respectable when you compare it to the almost 2 hours charge time for its rival the Flymo Mighti-Mo 300. What makes the Bosch Rotak 32 LI stand out from its competitors is the ability to charge the battery to 80% capacity in just 45 minutes. Believe me this is a great feature that provides outstanding convenience to the average gardener. As with all cordless lawn mowers, not being tethered by the cord not only make it easier to mow the lawn, but safer, quieter and more environmentally friendly.

As I mentioned before, the Rotak 32 is perfect for small and mid-sized gardens and its compact design allows you to cut your grass with precision, providing you with impeccable results and a nice-looking lawn. The grass box on the Bosch Rotak 32 LI is very well engineered and is extremely easy to remove, the grass clippings empty from the box with no obstructions. The tool is equipped with special grass combs that allow you to cut close to the edges and safely get around walls, pathways and flowerbeds for a tidy finish.This again does not necessarily put it ahead of competitors but it’s good that Bosch have taken advantage of what is clearly the most effective cutting system in the market.
