Enamelling is an ancient technique of applying coloured glass on to metal and has been practiced as far back as the ancient Egyptians. On this three day course, you will learn a range of enamelling techniques that will allow you to apply a palette of colours onto copper - resulting in striking patterns, beautiful colour combinations and exciting textures.You will be introduced to enamelling techniques including, shieving, stamping and mark making. These will emerge on to a range of samples and a completed piece of jewellery. An introduction to contemporary designers and their use of surface design will kick off the weekend which will lead onto practical demonstrations in order that you can confidently create your own collection of enamelled pieces in a fully equipped studio.Cost: £240 All tools, equipment and copper metal are provided in the fee and are part of the course. A small amount of silver is also provided. Fittings for earrings and extra silver will be available to purchase should you wish to develop more work in silver.
