About this deal

Hear your rigs as they were always meant to be heard! The HeadRush FRFR-108 features a specially-voiced 8-inch woofer and high-frequency compression driver that deliver a clear, concise and sonically-true full response across the entire frequency range, without any nuisance artificial colouration. Thanks to a conveniently located Contour EQ switch, the FRFR-108 guarantees to cut through muddy sounding stage mixes for perfect monitoring every time! High Output Power Hopefully I don't get skewered as I actually have a Pod GO and not Helix, but this forum seems to have more action and these devices are similar. Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered. I have an Axe Fx Ultra, a Helix LT, a Mooer GE300 and an Atomic Amplifire and in all platforms the frfr108 did a great job in terms of transparency in tone and headroom. Loud enough for small gigs and to compete with a loud drummer onstage. Some say it has a weird noise...make sure you are not clipping the devise. See manual for red light monitoring.

Effortless Connectivity: Whatever the situation demands, the HeadRush FRFR-108 includes hassle-free connectivity options for sheer versatility on stage or in rehearsal scenarios alike. With 2 XLR/TRS 1⁄4-inch combo inputs, each with their own independent volume control and clip indicator, amplifying and mixing two separate signal sources couldn’t be any simpler – plus with a thoughtful Ground-Lift switch, eliminate unwanted noise at venues with grounding issues and ensure you sound at your best every time.

What Makes Our Sales Engineers Great?

I don't know much about the Pod Go, but Helix has a nice global EQ that can help even things out with different speaker types. With a robust, lightweight chassis, a plethora of connectivity options, ample power for small to medium sized venues, expansion options and surgically tuned/voiced speaker, the HeadRush FRFR-108 is the ultimate solution for the forward-thinking guitarist seeking a monitoring or sound reinforcement solution, precision engineered for modelling processors. HeadRush FRFR-108 Specs: Nothing beats the tone of good tube amp. Going from a M.Boogie Mark IV to two 8"FRFR Headrush wedges turned out to be a huge surprise. I'm driving it with Sweetwaters exclusive custom white Straymon Iridium amp/cab emulator. All my mono footpeddles are in line before the Iridium. From the Iridium stereo outputs, I use 1/4" stereo cable going to channel 1 of both Headrush wedges. I do the same with my acoustic processor using channel 2. The Headrush wedges are set 45deg on each side of my centered vocal monitor wedge. I'm not running stereo but this sets both Headrush wedges at the same volume. You can link them together but the vol. From the 1st wedge will push the vol in the 2nd. You can balance them out but that's more stage setup time which many of us dont have that luxury. Since I'm running mono, from the closest Headrush wedge XLR output, the combined acoustic and electric mix goes to the main board. My vol. Is controlled by the vol.knob on the Iridium for electric, Acoustic Soulmate for the acoustic, now perfectly balanced in the Headrush wedges. I dont put my gtr mix in my vocal monitor, it all comes from the 2 Headrush wedges. What an awesome sound! We built the HeadRush FRFR-108 just for you, the discerning guitarist/bassist - if you’re looking to elevate the performance of your HeadRush Pedalboard, Gigboard or any other FX/Amp modeller, your search is over. You’ve found the HeadRush FRFR-108! People think you can just plug your guitar or instrument straight into it and get great sounds...Maybe, if your guitar has a pre-amp. I get a nice sound with my fender Roland VG5 (has a pre-amp) on the acoustic setting that has built in reverb. But, is not as load.

Hi, I own Ax8 and I dial my amp tones on my KRK RP5 reference monitors on a sufficiently high level (as suggested in many forums and videos around 90-95db). However, I am not satisfied with my tones on stage PAs. I think the natural coloration of my KRK monitors and insufficient low end of 5" speakers deceive me a little. It may also depend on room/desktop conditions as well. Anyways one cannot be sure about whole Fq spectrum with just 5" monitors for sure. Soon I'll buy a Kemper and I'm pretty sure the results will be positive too. Also tested as a vocal monitor with decent results. Get The Most From Your Multi-FX / Amp Modeller: The HeadRush Pedalboard and Gigboard have stormed the market with their ground-breaking innovation in FX and Amp modelling. Now that you’ve elevated your rig to the new innovative standards of today’s modellers, don’t rely on the limited frequency response of a traditional amplifier or PA speakers. You need the FRFR-108.

The company that brands the Headrush version of the speaker you're looking at just so happens to make a modeler as well, and so they are heavily focused on promoting the buzzword of "FRFR" for the Headrush. The Alto was released more as a general all purpose speaker. The majority of that audience would either not know or be unimpressed with the idea of "FRFR." To them that's a basic duh that a PA speaker should have a pretty big frequency range. If it didn't they wouldn't buy it.

It can also be daisy-chained to other FRFR Series speakers, or any active monitor, via XLR Link output, so your whole band can run from a single hassle-free monitor system. Fact is, what I don't like about "FRFR" speakers is the effect that the HF Drivers have on distorted tones. They're fine for CLEAN tones but add "fizz" to distorted tones. For guitar I use a PC212+ in RAW or Speaker Emulation mode (no HF Driver). BUT - see below... Controls (power switch; 2 x volume control knobs; EQ contour switch; ground-lift switch) (power switch; 2 x volume control knobs; EQ contour switch; ground-lift switch)If you turn it up and you have it sitting upright on a smooth surface, it will walk off of it. Use a stand or figure out a slip resistant solution (I use a lazy Susan that doesn't have a smooth surface).
