About this deal

If you are aware of some deep, dark secret and fear they have, they will probably know that you know. If they can tell by your graciousness that their secret will never be revealed-ever--to anyone, they will be relieved. You only tell them when you know they know what you know, and you are convinced this would make them feel better. If by reminding them it would obviously not make them feel better, don't even come close!

And so, the listeners would expect when this now debtless servant meets his fellow servant who owes him pittance an equally forgiving response. You can imagine their horror then when instead of forgiving him, the servant grabs the other by the throat and has him thrown in jail when he is unable to pay. Again, we see Jesus’ death foreshadowed. Forgiveness of sins requires sacrifice; it requires a lamb. The lamb must be perfect, ‘without defect’ (Leviticus 23:12). St Paul describes Jesus as ‘our Passover lamb \[who\] has been sacrificed’ (1 Corinthians 5:7). The Lord said to Moses, 10 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you and you reap its harvest, bring to the priest a sheaf of the first grain you harvest. 11 He is to wave the sheaf before the Lord so it will be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath. 12 On the day you wave the sheaf, you must sacrifice as a burnt offering to the Lord a lamb a year old without defect, 13 together with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of the finest flour mixed with olive oil—a food offering presented to the Lord, a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter of a hin of wine. 14 You must not eat any bread, or roasted or new grain, until the very day you bring this offering to your God. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live. The Festival of Weeks To better understand why God commands us to forgive and why it's so critical to be able to forgive, we have written a detailed article on What Does the Bible Say About Forgiveness? The author wraps up this section with a supporting quote: 4. The Old Testament prophecy of the new covenant supports the totality of our forgiveness (10:15-18).The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” But it is worth it. According to research forgiveness is far more beneficial to the one who is forgiving than to the one receiving the forgiveness. According to scientific research forgiving others leads to: Total forgiveness is painful. It hurts when we kiss revenge goodbye. It hurts to think of that person getting away with what they did and nobody knowing. But when I know fully what they did, and accept it in my heart they will be blessed without any consequences for their wrong, I have crossed over into the supernatural. This means I have begun to be a bit more like Jesus. The second point of the parable follows directly on from the extraordinary grace of God. As we recognise all God has done for us, it encourages us to ask the question: How should I respond to this generosity? To illustrate this point Jesus goes onto tell the parable of the unmerciful servant or we might call it the parable of the very generous King. In it we see the king discovering the debt of one of his servants, and yet despite the extravagant size of the debt, we are talking more than a lifetime of earnings debt here, he cancels it. He completely wipes it out!

revival in my church. I had to choose which meant more to megetting even with someone who had hurt one of my children orThis book is something I would NOT recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to react in some of the tough situations we find in life. It is a book which teaches cowardice and passivity. People who follow this kind of teaching will never know about courage and confrontation which is a necessary part of life. This book and similar books can be blamed as one of the reasons why so many spiritual people end up confused and unable to do what is right according to the time and the season. There is a time for everything under the sun, so don't think that this book is an answer to the bible. Its so easy to cop out and follow what would seem to be "spiritual" and "the way that seems right" so go ahead and follow the writer blindly if you do not care to investigate a matter fully or do not want to know anything outside of a bubble people have created. Total Forgiveness by R.T. Kendall - I hated this book. I only read it was because I told a friend I would. My friend said the book had been helpful to him many years ago. I hope he's matured enough to change his mind about the book if he re-read it now. As it is he's lost credibility with me regarding forgiveness and any other topic.

DELIGHT. This takes desire a step further. It is when you love doing it! You get joy from praying for and blessing your enemies. Total forgiveness! This is the heart of Jesus’ teaching here and it comes about because Peter has once again opened his big mouth. Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome. 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there. The Burial of Jesus David describes the enormous blessing of knowing you are forgiven: ‘Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit’ (vv.1–2). How would you answer the charge that total forgiveness by grace alone will lead to licentious living?

At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).You may need to do this for therapeutic reasons, but only to one person who in turn will never reveal your heart. Otherwise, do not mention it; refuse to tell anybody.
