About this deal

Channel switching: On your two-channel amps you can add a third channel with its own separate gain and EQ controls to allow clean, crunch, and drive sounds for ultimate flexibility. This pedal allows you to gently roll out that woofiness without negating all the wonderful interaction between the guitar and the Deluxe’s preamp. With its Gain knob, the Micro Amp+ allows you to dial up just as much gain as the original—up to +26dB—but with added EQ controls, you can now finely sculpt your boosted signal. Of course, we’ve all become accustomed to companies “upgrading” their classic designs, only to discover that the charm of the original was somehow lost along the way. It can also push an already distorting valve amp into warm compression without adding too much additional volume, thereby fattening up the tone.

When you bring the knob up around 3 o'clock it adds a little gain but not too much to colour the sound, enough to boost your tone with a little added grit. e., humbucker to single coils), or it can supply a permanent boost in a long effects chain where signal drop-off is a problem. With its Gain knob, the Micro Amp+ allows you to dial up just as much gain as the original-up to +26dB-but with added EQ controls, you can now finely sculpt your boosted signal. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish. Put it after drives and you get a boost for solos, but put it in front of an overdrive and be amazed at the new range of sounds you can achieve with that overdrive.

For more than 20 years, the MXR Micro Amp has been a staple among the world's top artists because of its ability to boost and sweeten up your guitar or bass tone and drive the front of your amp. Because you will be driving the first tube gain stage with the clean boost rather than driving the second tube stage with the first, you will probably also hear a different character to the distortion as well. MXR went bust in 1984 but the MXR brand was later picked up by Dunlop Manufacturing, who re‑released the Micro Amp, which is essentially the same but with a few more user‑friendly features and manufactured in the Far East. I haven't really used mine in a studio setting--seemed a little redundant to me, in my admittedly limited experience--so that's very useful information. The very different frequency responses on bolts with single versus gibbies with buckers means the perceived level may never really match up, but if you're just trying to get them to tickle V1 in your amp similarly it may help.

This pedal can be powered by a 9-volt battery, a Dunlop ECB003 9-volt adapter, or the DC Brick™, Iso-Brick™, and Mini Iso-Brick™ power supplies (not included). My favourite use is after fuzz/drive, at about 11 o'clock, with the guitar volume knob rolled half way down. That capability brings up one of my favorite uses for this pedal and the one that finally drove me to throw down the extra pesos for the new Micro Amp Plus: I use this pedal to cleanly reduce the “woof” from humbucking pickups when played into a Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe. With an electric guitar, this lets you boost your signal for lead work, adjust between two different guitars with unmatched output, for example humbucker to single coils, or it can supply a permanent boost in a long effects chain where signal drop-off is a problem. The Micro Amp is good for adding that extra kick you may want for solos or for pushing a valve amp into natural overdrive. No es un clean boost con lo cual sí que añade un pequeño carácter al sonido y no es limpio del todo pero es fantástico. Lead sounds: You can push up the gain on a medium-gain amp and raise the volume for leads via a footswitch.
