I’ve been using it as my first cleanse in my double cleanse routine and it does a pretty good job of removing makeup. It is excellent for acne-prone skin and safe to use even if you have fungi-related skin issues, like seborrhea or fungal acne. The finish is slightly tacky which I actually don’t mind as it means I can skip primer and go straight to foundation!As for skin-brightening, there is a trade publication with in-vivo data showing that SAP can fade brown spots. Keep in mind you must always use an SPF when you are using skin actives or when you have rosacea, so this cream will not be sufficient on its own in the morning. I love the texture of this cream because it is quite thin and spreads easily over the skin and doesn’t interfere with products that I layer over it…moisturiser and SPF. c. puts it in his awesome blog post, squalane's main things are " emolliency , surface occlusion, and TEWL prevention all with extreme cosmetic elegance". It is very common in gel-type formulas that also contain an oil-phase as well as in cleansers as it also works with most cleansing agents (unlike a lot of other thickeners). Dermatica also sent me a bottle of this to try out so I gave one to my sister to see how she got on with it.I really love that Dermatica haven’t skimped on hydrating ingredients here – oily skin needs moisture too!
