About this deal

The tale of Russ' disappearance is retold every thousand standard years by Bjorn the Fell-Handed, now the oldest Astartes Dreadnought still in service in the entire Imperium. It is believed by some Astartes amongst the Space Wolves that Russ left Fenris and journeyed into the Eye of Terror to find the fabled Tree of Life, a font of uncorrupted Warp energy hidden somewhere within the Immaterium that bears fruits said to be able to heal the Emperor and restore Him to full life. When a unit disembarks from a TRANSPORT model, set it up on the battlefield so that it is wholly within 3" of that TRANSPORT model and not within Engagement Range of any enemy models. If, for any reason, a disembarking model cannot be set up, that model’s unit cannot disembark. The following section details all known information on the Castraferrum Dreadnought. Secarssa - Secarssa, also known as the Bow of Ma'dan, was a Venerable Hellfire Dreadnought of the Mantis Warriors Chapter who was destroyed in combat during the Siege of Endymon Prime at the time of the Badab War.

Hey guys, I'm going to buy the Start Collecting! Space Marines box to expand my DA army because I have no non-named characters, I need another Tactical Squad and most of all because I love Dreadnoughts and I still haven't got one! Codex Adeptus Astartes - Space Marines (7th Edition) (Digital Edition), "Dreadnoughts", "Dreadnoughts (Datasheet)"Brutalis Dreadnought (175 points) • 1x Brutalis talons 1x Twin Icarus ironhail heavy stubber 1x Twin multi-melta If for any reason a model cannot be set up in Unit Coherency, that model is destroyed. If a unit cannot end a move in Unit Coherency, it cannot make that move and its models are returned to their previous positions. During the Horus Heresy many of the existing Mark IV Castraferrum Dreadnoughts turned Traitor. As a result, in the 41st Millennium, the Imperium has noted that the majority of Chaos Dreadnoughts are Mark IVs. This has led many within the Imperial hierarchy to suspect that the Machine Spirit of the Mark IV Castraferrum is flawed. As a result, most Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes now prefer to make use fo the more advanced Mark V Castraferrum chassis when possible. Those Mark IV Castraferrum Dreadnoughts still serving within Loyalist Chapters are protected by anti- Daemonic wards and Purity Seals in the hopes that this will reinforce them against the temptations of Chaos. Brought together under the banner of the Imperium, many patterns of Dreadnoughts existed and it was in latter-day conjunction with the superhuman physiology of the Space Marines that this technology had reached its zenith. By the 41st Millennium, the art of their construction has long since been lost, the arcane knowledge required passing into ritualised mythology, and each Chapter's Dreadnoughts are treasured relics. However, Bjorn's most potent weapon is neither his Lightning Claw nor his tactical acumen, but his legend. To be in Bjorn's presence is to the Space Wolves akin to being in Leman Russ' presence by proxy, spurning them on to commit acts of courage so foolhardy that even their "usual" acts of near-suicidal bravery seems only like child's play in comparison. On his other arm Bjorn also bears a mighty ranged weapon: most often an Assault Cannon, which is to a Dreadnought like the standard bolter is to an Astartes. However, if the situation requires it, the Iron Priests will equip Bjorn with a Plasma Cannon, Helfrost Cannon , or Twin-linked Lascannons. Aeneas - Aeneas is a former Grand Master of the Grey Knights Space Marine Chapter. Aeneas led the Chapter for 55 standard years during the 37th Millennium, until being mortally wounded in combat against Ahriman the Arch-Sorcerer.Venerable Dreadnoughts can also be armed with weaponry that is unique to certain Chapters, such as the Psycannons, Nemesis Doomfists, and Nemesis Doomglaives of the Grey Knights, the Bloodfists and Blood Talons of the Blood Angels, and the Dreadfire Fists used by some Dreadnoughts of the Salamanders Chapter. Here, its lower profile allows the Castraferrum to negotiate low-ceilinged passageways that the taller Contemptor Pattern would be unable to pass along. The true reason, however, that the Castraferrum remains in common use while the Contemptor and other patterns are rarely seen relics lies with the technology utilised within its many systems. Instead of the ill-understood Atomantic Arc Reactors and Helical Targeting Arrays of the Contemptor Pattern, the Castraferrum uses an adaptable thermic reactor and other such technological systems already found within a wide range of current Adeptus Astartes war machines. Units that disembark from a TRANSPORT model that made a Normal move this phase count as having made a Normal move themselves; they cannot move further during this phase. Such a unit also cannot declare a charge in the same turn, but can otherwise act normally in the remainder of the turn.

To Bjorn's continued frustration, it was to be five long standard years before word of Arvax's location surfaced once more. Russ immediately led his Space Wolves to destroy the foul creature, determined to personally slay the Daemon king himself and avenge those who had died during their last encounter. Yet in this goal, the primarch was to be denied, for Bjorn too sought out his nemesis and, as fate would have it, was the first to face Arvax in battle. A venerable hero of immense power, Bjorn has masterminded many of the Space Wolves' greatest victories, and by his hand have some of the Imperium's most heinous adversaries been slain. Always eager to crush the foes of the Allfather, Bjorn continues to fight amongst his Chapter's ranks as he has done for millennia.Venerable Dreadnoughts have gained vast amounts of knowledge and insight into the ways of war in the course of their long lifetimes. These ancient warriors have fought for the Emperor for so long that they have become almost impervious to damage, and can only truly be stopped by the complete and total destruction of their armoured sarcophagus. Ballistus Dreadnought (150 points) • 1x Armoured feet 1x Ballistus lascannon 1x Ballistus missile launcher 1x Twin storm bolter Bjorn the Fell-Handed, also known as " the Eldest," " Trueclaw," " Revered One," and " Last from the Company of Russ," is a Venerable Mars Pattern Mark V Dreadnought and former Great Wolf of the Space Wolves Chapter. He is also the oldest living Space Marine in the Imperium of Man, for in his mortal life he fought beside the Emperor and his primarch, Leman Russ, during the Great Crusade and the bitter wars of the Horus Heresy. A Wulfen Dreadnought is a Space Marine Dreadnought in service only to the Space Wolves Chapter whose pilots have fallen prey to the curse of the Wulfen.

Kraai - Kraai is a Venerable Dreadnought of the Raven Guard Chapter, who has served his brethren for over 4,000 standard years. A Hellfire Dreadnought of the Mantis Warriors Chapter armed with a twin-linked Autocannon and a Missile Launcher.

Wulfen Dreadnoughts are bellicose, even by the standards of the Space Wolves, and their weapon loadouts are hence adapted by Iron Priests. Ranged armaments are replaced with massive implements of close quarters slaughter -- namely the Fenrisian Great Axe and Great Wolf Claw. Some Wulfen Dreadnoughts bear a "Blizzard Shield," its powerful force field allowing them to weather even more punishment as they plunge into battle. This, combined with the Dreadnought's own impressive unmodified strength makes the fist deadly to all, even heavily armoured foes like a Space Marine Chapter Master. Also, the Dreadnought's heavy vehicle armour means that even those that survive the initial assault can do little more than wait for the inevitable. The ranged weapons used by standard Castraferrum Dreadnoughts include Assault Cannons, Multi-meltas, twin-linked Lascannons, twin-linked Autocannons, twin-linked Heavy Bolters, twin-linked Heavy Flamers, Missile Launchers, or a Plasma Cannon. Castraferrum Dreadnoughts are also able to be outfitted with Extra Armour Plating, a Searchlight and Smoke Launchers. Venerable Dreadnoughts are amongst the oldest war machines fighting on the battlefields of the 41st Millennium. Thus they are revered by other Space Marines, not just as potent warriors of legend, but also as ageless forebears and living embodiments of battles fought long ago. Rare and ancient pict-capture of Bjorn aboard an Alpha Legion vessel, slaughtering his treacherous foes.
