The film grain goes from incredibly light to nearly non existent in some shots, and I understand WB is good at managing film grain (the shining, 2001, clockwork orange, wizard of Oz, etc), but at least those other WB transfers had SOME grain, albeit subtle grain.

Sidestepping the standard Dolby Digital pitfall that’s ensnared so many Warner releases of late, ‘Elf’ arrives on Blu-ray with a faithful, fairly impressive Dolby TrueHD 5. I would even go so far as to say director Jon Favreau (‘Iron Man,’ ‘Zathura’) has made a near-perfect family film in that it will appeal to both children and adults.
