About this deal

After reading your suggestions for my 03 Americas trip project, I will take a closer look at taking a new Olympus OM-D E-M1X camera as a second body. I initially thought to take, as a second body, the new Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III, due to the fact that its handgrip is bigger and more ergonomic than that found in my Panasonic DC-GX9 camera. central sharpness is again very good from open aperture to f/11, good at f/16 and fair at f/22. The edges are not far behind off, being very good at f/5.6 to f/11, good at f/16 and fair at f/22. Sample Images G85, 1/320, f/8, ISO 200 G85, 1/2500, f/3.8, ISO 200 G85, 1/200, f/4, ISO 200 G85, 1/125, f/7.1, ISO 200 G85, 1/250, f/8, ISO 200 G85, 1/500, f/4, ISO 640 G85, 1/100, f/4, ISO 200 G85, 1/800, f/5.6, ISO 200 G85, 1/1000, f/5.6, ISO 200 G85, 1/800, f/2.8, ISO 200 G85, 1/160, f/4, ISO 200 Any chance you've used a 12-35mm f/2.8 II? Don't know if I just got a bad copy, but i've not been impressed with mine. it's my understanding that the new leica 12-60 has all sorts of tweaks to the focus motor and other lens systems to make it better suited to video use, for just one example.

For this reason, we would only recommend the Pana-Leica 12-60mm if you truly feel you can take full advantage of the additional zoom range. For example, it could be a suitable choice for those who intend to use the lens for 90% of their everyday photography, or prefer to travel with one all-purpose lens instead of multiple primes.

Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph Power OIS: Features

Covering a focusing distance from ultra-wide angle to super telephoto, this new LEICA DG VARIO-ELMARIT F2.8-4.0 Series achieves exceptionally high descriptiveness for both photo and video recording, and yet its size is kept compact. All of the lenses in this series feature a 9-blade diaphragm to give the aperture a rounded shape that produces an attractively smooth effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. All lenses also take advantage of Panasonic's Nano Surface Coating technology to minimize ghosts and flaring. They boast a rugged, dust/splash-proof design and are even freeze-proof down to -10°C to withstand professional use under harsh conditions. The high-quality video recording capability is also one of the advantages of this lens series. AF (tested on a Panasonic GX80) appears not only to be very quiet, but also lightning fast (from infinity to one and half meters in 50 ms is matched by no other brand) and very accurate (repeatability below 5%). Individually, those are already really top performances, but that speed, silence and accuracy are combined in one lens is really very exceptional in the price class of under 1000 euros.{insertgrid ID = 289} Panasonic Lumix G 12-60 mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH POWER OIS @ 60 mm f/11The shortest focal distance amounts to 20 cm (wide angle) to 25 cm (telephoto), and the image scale is about 0.27, which due to the crop factor corresponds with a magnification of 0.54 full-frame equivalent. Vignetting Panasonic Lumix 12-60 mm is a perfect partner for a GX8 or GX80 and is not a bad choice on a Panasonic GH4 or an Olympus camera. Mainly, I do outdoors / travel / documentary / 'life experience' photography with a little bit of indoor photography for work (conferences etc), I very rarely do portraiture and literally never do artistic photography.

LUMIX G VARIO 12-60mm / F3.5-5.6 ASPH. / POWER O.I.S. offers a versatile 5x zoom range of 24-120mm (35mm camera equivalent) to fully cover a variety of daily shooting situations such as a dynamic landscape to portrait. It also features 0.54x (35mm camera equivalent) magnification capability for impressive macro close-up shots. But I do a lot of printing on all kind material and in common editing I do lots of pixel peeping and the mind has required to be rewired years ago that what you see in 15x magnification ratios doesn't matter when all is good enough. Perhaps, would it be better to use the Zuiko 12-100 mm lens with another Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III camera? I also think about buying a second micro 4/3 body, a little bigger and with a better handgrip than the DC-GX9 Lumix. I really liked the article about the Leica 12-60 mm zoom lens, f: 2.8-4.0 vs Olympus Zuiko 12-100, f: 4.0. Congratulations, I believe you took the doubt out of a lot of people!Panasonic Lumix G 12-60 mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH POWER OIS @ 60 mm f/11 Conclusion Review Panasonic Lumix G 12-60 mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH POWER OIS Pros
