About this deal

Travel or compact strollers don’t recline the same way as Vista, because it literally reclines the seat, not just changes its position so the it’s not going to be the same mechanism. Although the recline on those strollers are ultimately much more comfortable for the child than Vista because it’s flatter. Also, if you’ll be traveling to Europe often keep in mind that American car seat are illegal in Europe. So if you get it in the US it’s illegal to use in Europe because of the straps. Many people do it anyway, but if you get into a crash the insurance has a right to reject your claims completely if they see you used a US car seat, so it’s a risk. If you know you’ll be visiting Europe often I recommend getting a lightweight European car seat – they can be actually only 5 lbs like Avionaut Pixel!) It’s been previously made of foam before the update arrived and some people might find it odd, but honestly, I never had issues and we’ve been through the rainy and snowy weather with it. Folding & Unfolding

Travel system compatible with its own matching carseat (BabyZen iZi Go Modular by BeSafe) and also compatible with Maxi-Cosi Pebble and Pebble Plus, Cybex Aton Q and Nuna Pipa The Babyzen Yoyo+ really is exceptional in this area. Out of all of the lightweight buggies we tested, this was the smoothest ride out of them all and by a considerable margin too. The only way Bugaboo Butterfly would be suitable from birth is by using car seat adapters. The car seat adapter for the Bugaboo Butterfly fits these car seats: Created in collaboration with BeSafe®, the Norwegian safety experts, YOYO car seat is designed to protect your newborn baby and ensure he/she travels safely: YOYO car seat is a certified Group 0+ model for children aged 0 to approximately 12 months (up to 13 kg / 75 cm - 28.7 lbs / 29.5 in). How tall are you? If you or your partner are on the tall it’s extremely uncomfortable. Even if you’re 5’7 it’s already short and you’ll be slouching.

Here’s another post of mine on my travel blog explaining everything about flying with a baby: https://annaeverywhere.com/flying-with-a-baby/ but about bassinets. Dylan was I believe 3.5 months in this video? Maybe a bit older – not exactly sure since we used to fly with him a few times a month for doctor’s appointments haha (you’ll find this story on my travel blog too). Cons: very tall parents might prefer an extendable handlebar while shorter parents might feel like it’s too high. Bugaboo Butterfly drives smoothly and there isn’t much difference between the Butterfly and the Yoyo2 when it comes to being able to maneuver around tight corners and suspension on wheels. It drives like a charm honestly so no complaints here.

I carried it on my shoulder various times up and down the stairs ( like in Santorini or French Riviera) when we wanted to have a stroller for meals and on flatter streets. It took our tester a few tries to nail the one-handed fold on the Yoyo+, but once she had figured it out, it was the most convenient fold out of all the buggies she tested. I can easily put several items in it without worrying about carrying enough for my baby’s needs. Also, I can access the storage basket from the stroller’s front, which is fantastic.

We’ve been using it ever since, but like all other strollers, it’s not flawless. Babyzen Yoyo traveled with us around Italy, Poland, France, Switzerland, Slovenia, Malta, USA, French Polynesia, and Spain. But, fast forward 2 months later after our Uppababy Vista getting broken twice by the airlines and waiting 45min at the gate for the stroller collection at Amsterdam airport because our Cybex Eezy S Twist wouldn’t fit in the cabin I decided I needed a lightweight stroller for travel that fits in the cabin of ALL airlines and aircrafts. As buggies go, the Babyzen Yoyo+ is a modern classic, looking both contemporary and stylish. It feels and looks as expensive as you’d expect from such a high value item. Can I get the Babyzen Yoyo+ in different colours? I was a bit surprised when I discovered the recline of Bugaboo Butterly isn’t great. The stroller reclines visibly less than Babyzen Yoyo and slightly less than Joolz Aer. It’s crazy, because so many retailers claimed Butterfly has a lower recline but in reality, it’s not the case.

It’s worth noting too that while the buggy may not last as long as others in terms of weight, it does have a high resale value which could allow you to recoup some of the cost if you were looking to sell it on after use. Bassinets only are on international flights and only on big planes (so for example, if you’re coming from the US to Mexico there are no bassinets). Booking them is not automatic at all and the way you book it depends on the airline – with some you can reserve in advance online, others only do it at the gate, others you need to call for and request (never guaranteed). Either way, it’s always first come first serve so if there are 40+ babies like on Italy-USA flights only 4 people get them. Realistically speaking babies always fly on your lap and must be on your lap for take-off and landing and turbulences. You can pay for a seat for your baby (then you pay full price instead of the 10% fee) but you need to bring an airline approve car seat for that and you can only put it by the window. Read next: The best pram toys to buy, as recommended by parents What are the key features of the Babyzen Yoyo+?It takes a ton of space in the car. Especially in Europe if you rent a smaller vehicle you will have issues putting the passenger’s seat in a comfortable position if you put Doona behind it. It folds but you need a little push at the end and the carry strap gets lost in the stroller.Once folded, you can carry the stroller using a shoulder strap or by using a footrest handle. I was also able to hang my own handbag on the handlebar when the kid was sitting in it and even when they were not. We can hang a diaper bag off it and it never failed when the baby is sitting in it, it’s 100% safe. My firstborn always slept and chilled comfortably in the stroller, and it wasn’t bumpy for him. Also, you can roll it around like a suitcase, which makes rolling even more seamless. Generally, I love how easy it was to move the baby stroller with one hand. My older son is currently 40″ and in over 90th percentile for 3-year-olds and basically hits the top of the seat and the space between the top of his head and canopy is pretty much the same as on Babyzen Yoyo and ironically, even lower than on Joolz Aer.
