About this deal

I don’t think mentioning the fact I studied it is condescending, but apologies if it sounded like that. I just find the area interesting. A faux cuff ( https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/faux-trouser-cuffs.36004/) might be possible and give you the appearance of a turn up while using less fabric. You can then add a band of fabric on the inside of the trousers to hide the faux cuff and add weight.

The other common type of side adjustor uses elastic and buttons: they’re often called ‘Daks’ adjustors, after the brand that became famous for them (shown above).

Inventor 朱培祥 Current Assignee (The listed assignees may be inaccurate. Google has not performed a legal analysis and makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of the list.) Some of these waistbands are overly fussy and complicated- the extended waistband comes to mind. I assume the waistband width XXcm was intended to have a figure: 3.5cm; 1.5 inches??Easy to fasten onto your button fastener on a pair of trousers or a skirt, this waist extender will give you extra breathing space of 1" to 2", ideal to relieve that bloated feeling after a meal. Ideal to easily adapt trousers and skirts during pregnancy or during a period of weight gain, this waist expander is available in a choice of colours to match a range of garments. But they can be cut too deep, making coins difficult to fish out. They should be shallower than the length of your finger. Finally, I usually prefer a waistband to finish in a button on slightly more casual trousers, but a hook on smarter ones – as it’s cleaner. But it’s more personal preference than almost anything else here. Personally, I find that jeans look great without a belt. Those empty loops look fine, almost just a sign of how practical a piece of clothing it is, that it just has that potential. I’ve never had that with the front fastening on my trousers, Lindsay. To be honest that sounds like it might be down to the cheapness of the make (the hardware, but also the structure in the waistband).

I know Daks adjustors have their fans, but personally I don’t want elastic in my waistband if I can help it. And in any case they never work as well as a side adjustor. Elastic stretches as you reach and as you move; trouser cloth on its own does not.

No, certainly. But language is rarely a simple question of being correct or not. It’s an interesting area actually – it’s something I studied. This is less showy than the big waistbands, but still (for me) was a style whose appeal didn’t last. My experience is exactly the same, except that I find I sometimes need the side adjustors when I change weight a little bit.
