Both are beautiful woody vanillas, but while Addict is smoky and thick, Midnight Shimmer is clean, deliciously fruity and fluffy. I agree that Al Rehab; Golden Sand is a good dupe for this and have recently stumbled across Sunnamusk; Golden Dust, which is not only a great dupe for this, but has beast mode projection, lasting power (days on a sample card) and sillage.

to me this is an exact dupe of Cologne of the Missions Les Couvent des Minimes (and I already own two bottles of it! At first you get a bitter sweet burst, almost alcohol like but then it quickly settles into a syrupy sweet vanilla, jasmine,amber and then finally settles into a warm vanilla, amber sweetness.

It's a very clean vanilla to my nose, and it immediately reminded me of Vanilla Woods from 7 Virtues. The openings are different, with Eau des Missions being more linear and going directly into the smoky vanilla scent, while Midnight Shimmer has a bit of a plasticky opening that dissipates quickly.

i enjoy it but because i LOVE the depth and booziness and smokiness from SDV and fullness I just don't find myself wearing as much. People say it doesn't last but here in Oz atm we're in the throws of an extremely hot summer, and its fairing extremely well in the heat and I sprayed it on last night at about 7.The scent is gorgeous (still not in love with the opening spray but it gets so much better), woody warm vanilla, I would agree that it's more of a fall-winter perfume.
