Each player gets one point for each card they played to the middle of the table, ignoring the number on the cards. Players deal their ligretto stack of 10 cards face up onto the table and then between 3-5 cards (depending on player count) face up into their row. Sometimes I can’t move my cards but the other players are playing - sometimes it happens before or during a round. This is what makes the game so much fun as the game changes so quickly and it is almost impossible to keep up. Add a second different colour box and up to eight can play, add the third and now twelve players can compete.

If you combine two different-coloured boxes of the Ligretto basic game up to 8 players can participate and if you use all three different boxes, you can play with up to 12 people.

Each deck has a different design on the back (carriage, pump, pail, and plow) to designate players cards.
