Nothing outstanding here save for the red half pyramid thingies and spikes to make it look like a villain’s hideout.

The fortress is a very nice set in person, its a little like the only LEGO bunker you can get and if you bought a few you could stack them and have an amazing tower. I’ve come to expect back printing with all minifigs that I get from sets, so nothing out of the ordinary here. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. It doesn't help that the set's mass is divided between the tower part and the dragon platform section, which spreads out the parts and increases the appearance of smallness. I don't know if it's the way all the bright colors were used, or the small building with the big prefab dragon, or the huge bright yellow banner and trim.Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. It also houses a blood red crystal, which I think is what controls the dragon or gives power to the wizard. It’s pretty hefty looking so it doesn’t immediately strike you as an afterthought to bump up the piece count. Walk up the stairs and you’re confronted with a surly henchman, guarding the princess from any would-be heroes who seek to set her free. I’d really only recommend getting it if you really want the dragon, which is what I did so I was okay with dropping the cash for it. I truly hope that LEGO continue to add to this theme and give us other color Dragons like they have done in previous incarnations, and not end it with just this wave like they have done in the past.Includes 5 minifigures with weapons and accessories: 2 King’s Knights, princess, Dragon Wizard and a Dragon soldier. They mention that it provides hours of fun for children of all ages, and is a great kit with a good set of minifigures. The dragon looks hilarious with the fire coming out of the chin but when you close the mouth, you hardly see it so it's not really that much of a problem. It’s not really hidden since it’s right in front of your face but I ullionlove that we get chrome (!

I really appreciate your blog, the overview of the sets are very nice, even though I have to sometime disagree.And while the LEGO Kings Castle was definitely the jewel of this series, this dragon with mini-tower, which always served as the bad guy's lair in our house, was a close second favorite, especially after the dragon appeared in the The LEGO Movie . The bottom bit with the interior is nice looking and well constructed and the very top bit with the crystal is nice, but overall, it's too small. Once you take it out, you will still be able to slighty form and bend its shape for a few minutes (but watch out, it's freaking hot, you will burn your fingers without protection), so that's a last opportunity to make sure that its form and holes fit your minifig as perfectly as possible.
