About this deal

Sometimes, however, female Lindal 7/16 NS threaded valve gas canisters are either hard to find / unavailable (Singapore and Malaysia), or much more expensive (Western Australia).

Negative bonus points if you are using the modular lid, as you will create a very impressive geyser of molten chai on top of a blowtorch. In terms of packing space, it totally beats the volume of my classic backpacking system consisting of a one-liter pot + camping stove + gas. Agree with others, freeze dried food like Mountain House tastes fine, no messy cleanup but somewhat expensive. I like the weight of the G-works, but it doesn't work with 16 oz propane bottles that are made to be refilled. I still had my old Coleman Stove which had a regulator that looked essentially the same as the crap Jetboil part and thought that might be a quick, easy fix.Kovea's LPG adapter works great with my Spider but I understand it won't work with the Vega unless you do something to lengthen the control valve's pin (which I'd rather not do). This bomb type set up is what I meant when I earlier said that one needs to channel heat from the burner back to the fuel.

when running a backpacking stove upright with Isobutane, you get a freezing canister since the vaporisation cools the canister, it's ok down to 10 F, a cozy is useless in this case. Every camping stove using gas generates a small amount of carbon monoxide, a gas which, as my 13-year-old learned recently at school, is odorless, invisible and highly toxic. Lower the assembly onto the CP250 gas canister, aligning the outer protrusion of the CE020 Adaptor with the notch on the collar of the CP250 gas canister. And even if I am completely wrong about galvanic corrosion being an issue, the environments we have spent time in with this stove have resulted in rust. That would be much more convenient that trying to keep from knocking over your Jetboil with pot/pan which will be top heavy. We had a little bit of alcohol and could still heat water for morning coffee or simple meals needing little more than boiling water to prepare.

To be honest, if you're car camping and going to cook regularly, I would just get one of those 2 burner propane stoves. So, the number -44F/-42C is something of an approximation, depending on exactly what you've got in the canister. I would be very careful about inspecting them before use including inspection of any seals- or better yet, replacing them with known quality, etc.Thirdly, when we are using the stove for the last time before breaking down and moving camp we can time the cooking and turn the valve off at the large tank about 30 seconds before the cooking is finished. I am sorry to hear about the regulator issue you had experienced on your relatively new Genesis stove. For a remote canister stove that can handle liquid feed gas (inverted canister type operation), this might be a nice option.

If I'm reading the charts correctly, the vapor pressure of 100% propane at 32°F is about the same as a 30/70% propane/n-butane mix at 75°F (see e. However, if one were to put a hand warmer or other heat source inside, then a cozy could be of value. I guess that makes sense in that a remote doesn't have the burner column right on top of the connector. I've got a Jetboil but find that, for backpacking, I preferentially use an alcohol stove so I've been looking for an alternative use for the stove. If liquid fuel actually exits into the burner, you'll have a fireball erupt like a volcano out of your stove.

I would expect that cheap Chinese-sourced steel would rust after being heat-cycled but that would be seen on the areas where pots and pans actually sit during cooking not on the outside ring that merely gets warm. However, if you are used to cooking up stews and frying pancakes, eggs or bacon, the JetBoil Zip by itself is not enough. Propane is the easiest, most convenient fuel for car camping, but if you want to save a few bucks, you could go with a Coleman fuel two burner type stove.
