In this case it was down to issues with pacing throughout the book which, having read the rest of the Triple Trouble trilogy, I know isn’t entirely down to this being a debut as it doesn’t go away (although it’s not as pronounced in future books).

When several members of the ring soon turn up dead, Billy abruptly pulls Kate out, blowing her cover. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. He’s now morphed into a successful finance guy who’s earned his own wealth and coaches kids football, after his own dreams of becoming a football player didn’t pan out. The novel is a straight up contemporary romance, however, Hunter’s profession places it in a quirky sub-genre: Sports Romance.They’re destined to be together from the first time they crash into each other’s lives although lack of communication causes some angst and uncertainty about the future of their relationship. Now I often have the opposite problem when authors dont describe things enough, but here it was too much and too often. The narrative may highlight the idea that these characters are destined to be together, despite the obstacles they face. She started spending more time with Hunter and their attraction started growing every time they were together.
