The lead is slightly padded for extra comfort and has a d ring at each end (one end is 2m in length) and then a ring in the middle to make the lead suitable for multiple use. Now that the foster dogs have moved on I still use this lead as it is lovely and long but can also be wrapped around my waist when needed. Brilliant, just been out with this new lead and so much easier on the hand and for keeping in-training dog in line, love the fact that I can put it round my waist. There is also a Halti active lead which can be attached around your waist and features a bungee so can be used for running with your dog, not for jumping in case you were worried! Remember that their neck muscles and ligaments are not as strongly formed as in adults, and there should be no harsh jerking.

I gave it 4 stars because the lead is a bit too long for me (although excellent when it is put around the waist for hands free). Bringing together style and functionality, the range comes in four vibrant colours with a smart two-tone webbing.

If you have a small puppy try the narrower width as the clips aren’t so big, so suit small breeds like Chihuahuas, or Jack Russells.
