About this deal

The forty-year journey of horror icon Laurie Strode and the original bogeyman Michael Myers ended with a terrifying whimper instead of the bang fans everywhere wanted and demanded. The Bold New Take on The Beloved Classic “The Color Purple” Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD March 12th! We reviewed this Region free UK Ultra HD Blu-ray release on a JVC-DLA N5 Ultra HD 4K projector and a Panasonic DP-UB9000 Dolby Vision/HDR10 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Final Girl (4K, 4:40) – A tribute to working with Jamie Lee Curtis, her legacy on this franchise and herself coming to terms with it being her final go at it.

The film really works the quiet moments allowing big locations like the opening house plenty of atmosphere. The most acclaimed and revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying finale as Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). Why it was cut, well never know, but it highlights the problematic creation of this film and the lack of a single coherent vision maintained from the opening frames of Halloween (2018) to the very end of this. Throughout, there's enough happening in each scene to keep those surround and height channels active and engaged. He is also the Moderator/MC of the Live Podcast Stage and on the Podcast Awards Committee for PopCon (popcon.Steelbook from Germany is 100% compatible in the UK, only the cardboard bit on the back is in German so if you're in the UK you can purchase this and be sure that it works. For the week that ended on December 31st, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Halloween Ends finally took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only chart from Paramount Home Media Distribution's Top Gun: Maverick, ending the sequel's eight weeks in a row on top of that . predecessor, either, if that matters, though the climax and the dénouement certainly don't shy away from some pretty intense blood and guts. Ends even takes this one step further by referencing other Carpenter films, such as Christine and its mirroring of that film’s put upon lead by this film (see the shared surname of both characters, as well as clothing similarities). Depth: Depth of field is pretty impressive with good pushback and scale on display throughout the film.

Aiming to tie in with the original films to some degree, its source wasn’t used to capture the blisteringly sharp lines modern cameras are capable of. And yet replacing Myers with a new kill buddy/substitute whilst neutering him almost completely was deemed an acceptable narrative for what was promised to be the epic finale to end all slasher films? The first film was pretty good I thought, the first 20 mins of the 2nd film were also pretty good, the rest of the 2nd film and the whole of this film are just awful, really really bad, such a letdown. The home release boasts over 30 minutes of behind the scenes interviews and deleted/extended scenes, in addition to a very informative commentary track. Sharing sonic qualities with its predecessor, it gets the basics absolutely right – there’s a huge dynamic and tonal range present in the English Atmos track: bass is deep and driven by the punchy bass notes of the score and diegetic music, while the chunky mid-range delivers a lively score and sound effects track. Yet despite a handful of well executed thrill kill scenes (the opening baby-sitting accident is the best scene in the entire film and shows that Gordon Green can do when he puts his mind to it), the overarching narrative of Halloween Ends is not just a confusing mess (unlike the previous two films, the link between theme, narrative and character here is muddied from the get go – character motivations baffle, dialogue exchanges seem to about face in their meaning mid-sentence and even the simple story arc of key characters are puzzlingly obtuse) but it annoyingly pivots away from the end of … Kills completely (Myers is now a homeless man who can barely stand, not the mythic, invulnerable embodiment of evil he ended the last film as), almost jettisoning Myers wholly from its storyline, replacing him with a new character with no heritage at all and ultimately robbing the audience of the prime reason for this film to even exist.

This is the kind of different and experimental avenues I praise a series of “Guy in mask stabs people” that I’ve loved for most of my life for doing. Michael’s cobwebbed burnt mask is a standout for all of the close-up action we see with the short amount of screen time he gets. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Im nervenzerreißenden Abschluss der legendäre Horror-Kultfilmreihe aller Zeiten tritt Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) ein letztes Mal dem menschgewordenen Bösen Michael Myers gegenüber.Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for consumer credit activities Firm Reference Number 656489.
