I already adore this lady (I once ran past her during a 10k event and was so starstruck after following her for years, all I did was just shout "Bryony, I love you!
When I wrote a piece about it for You Magazine, Bryony reached out to offer support and suggested AA. Her experiences at rehab shine a light on the hard work that those courageous enough to fight addiction face. It's very hard to break through shame, fear and social conditioning to speak about addiction or mental health issues and here Gordon pulls no punches about either. I’ve read everything she has ever written, laughing out loud at The Wrong Knickers and being inspired to try Couch to 5K after reading Eat, Drink, Run.Re: rating - 3 would be too stingy, 4 is a little generous, but I'm happy to err on the side of generosity here.
The inclusion of her internal monologue allows us to understand the nature of her relationship with alcohol.
