SR takes his time to lay the plot but keeps us in suspense until the end, leaving us at the end with desires to know more. When I saw that Sylvain Reynard was giving us another peek into the life of Julia and Gabriel I was thrilled I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

It was no hardship spending more time with my favourite Professor and number one book-boyfriend, watching as he and Julia tackle parenthood which definitely put a new perspective on their relationship and their careers. I may not have loved the plot of ”GABRIEL’S PROMISE”, but I still have so much love for Professor Emerson.But as the story unfolded, the pace slowed, and I actually started skimming pages to find some kind of resolution.

The ups and downs that constantly surround them, are not helping them to have an easy life, the mystery of things that keep happening is Bringing back old fears from their past that is coming back to hunt them. Both Gabriel and Julia have a lot going on in their careers and personal lives and circumstances are always on the verge of causing problems. It just felt like the author threw way too many impossible challenges at Gabriel and Julia almost at the same time, and then he may have realized this and tried to resolve some of them without giving a real explanation.As much devoted to Julia as to their little Clare, Gabriel is ready to do anything to make them happy and preserve them. I’m hoping that the author will let Gabriel and Julia ride into the sunset to live happily ever after and end the series on a high note. I read some reviews saying that there were questions left unanswered in Gabriel’s Promise, but in reality, there aren’t. The story is a bit of a suspense, I felt like there was always something happening that I could not guess. A new chance to witness, once again, the love they share strengthen as well as seeing their family grow with the adorable Clare.
