Tom Holland’s Fright Night is one of those 1980s films, like The Howling and Re-Animator, that fearlessly blends horror and comedy into one fetching confection. Fuller is a massive fan of the film and it’s exciting to see him geek out on the material with the same zest with which you or I might when looking back on this beloved effort. Although not the sort of significant upgrade from its Blu-ray predecessor that we've come to expect, the native 4K transfer nonetheless flaunts a welcomed uptick in overall definition, exposing every nook and cranny of each character's rooms.

The Queer Lens” is a conversation between Bryan Fuller and star Amanda Bearse, delving into the queer subtext and how conscious the filmmakers were about this during a more conservative time in Hollywood. With wonderful performances from the entire cast including, but especially, Chris Sarandon and Roddy McDowall, Fright Night stands as not just one of the best of its era, but one of the most enjoyable vampire films ever made.
