About this deal

I’ve read the reviews and see some videos but I’d love to hear some anecdotal feedback on people’s experiences with the game, pros/ cons, etc.

Some of the more interesting ones make cards next to the big Nightweave meeple in the meadow cost an additional berry or allow her to take the most valuable card in your city, which forces you to keep your cards relatively even so she doesn’t gain a massive point-swing on you. Suitable for holding your squishy berries, sturdy twigs, sparkling resin, smooth pebbles, impressive pearls, shiny coin tokens, welcoming occupied tokens, and special event cards. The one exception and this should give you an indication as to the rather cruel nature of this arachnid foe, is the Fool card which Nightweave will happily deploy onto your city earning you a minus two points penalty in the process. You won’t always know what Nightweave is about to do, so there’s a surprise element, but for me, part of the fun in playing against bots is trying to figure out how I can use their scripts to work against them. With its adorable aesthetics and kindhearted nature, Everdell became a comforting ray of light that pierced the darkness that I struggled with. In short, I wanted Mistwood to be more like the game advertised on the cover of the box where animals are teaming up to fight Nightweave, not like the one I’m used to playing with other players.

Consequently, she has the luxury of simply ignoring all card costs and effects as is often the case with board game solo opponents. Similarly, there’s the Corrin Evertail module that chronicles the life and adventures of the legendary founder of Everdell through a series of interlocking critters and location cards!I’m confused why the designers chose to make Nightweave more of a bot than a separate boss altogether. The information provided here is as complete and accurate as possible; however, product images, colours and/or specifications (inc. You see, in addition to the Activity deck Nightweave can also be played with several modules and expansions all of which alter the rules ever so slightly but more importantly have a drastic impact on how she acts. Also, I would be remiss not to bring attention to the artistic talents of illustrator Andrew Bosley. The front of the box shows an army of woodland creatures ready to fight an army of spiders that have infested the Evertree (Figure 1).

Before you could almost work out if you should play a card based on its point value since you knew Rugworts played card would be 2 points. These often give you the option of two special abilities to choose from in addition to having variable resource costs. Each action corresponds to Nightweave’s current season and instructs the solo player regarding Nightweave´s target priority within each action.Lurking in the depths of Mistwood, the cunning and villainous Nightweave plots to take over Everdell with the aid of her spiderlings. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Mistwood also includes additional player meeples: spiders, stoats, pigs, and butterflies, which are unfortunately reused from My Lil’ Everdell. For one, I try not to dwell too much on the past as this is something I’m already most definitely prone to do anyway.

Plus, there are different personalities and other modules that allow for variety to this experience. If you were ever to hand cards to Nightweave they are shuffled into their hand and they receive a victory point for each (resources also give a victory points instead of being collected by Nightweave). I really like the solo modules as well which not only increase replayability but also makes each game a different puzzle with you having to outthink Nightweave in different ways. The box cover makes it look like an epic adventure where you (and potentially a friend) face off against Nightweave, but all that really happens is Nightweave is another player playing the base game of Everdell. There are 3 possible modules that you can add to Nightweave to change up the gameplay, personalities, plans and plots. The Monks of Mistwood have recorded the tales of heroes past and present, including stories of Everdell’s founder, Corrin Evertail, and other legendary figures from the Emerald Valley’s timeline. The Nightweave boards are good quality cardboard and have a lot of details about how to play the solo mode (Figure 3). These act as mini modular expansions to the base game of Everdell, a pleasant surprise that I was honestly not expecting when sorting through the components for the first time.
