About this deal

It all started with an image created especially for a contest on a photography forum, and this image won the contest, which surprised its creator. Lone Sloane, a wanted man, is tracked down by a religious cult known as the Red Redemption to infiltrate an impenetrable bank located on the pleasure planet known as Delirius. Sloane found himself in Shaan's crosshairs in the previous entry, thus adding significant stakes to the story here.

When first released in both French and American editions The 6 Voyages of Lone Sloane was a game changer, the sheer conceptual brilliance and fantastic wild art influencing a generation of creators. Philippe Druillet was only rarely effective at explaining his ideas in anything other than abstract ways. The artwork is fantastic at times but its too busy, the panel layout is nonsensical, and the color makes the whole thing a bit blurry and hard to see.

Something of a Han Solo (actually preceding his existence by a year or so) with a fiercer amorality, Sloane is all about the solo, and all out for himself.

O autor realiza, em seu texto, um retorno simbólico e catártico à Terra de Todos os Santos, cria neologismos, metáforas "baianadas" e transgressões na linguagem como imagens das transgressões existenciais. After two photographic experiments (a brief one with Minolta silver reflex in the 80s and a longer one with a compact digital camera during 2000).You can see that Druillet has drawn tiny individuals in many of the vast crowd scenes on the decadent pleasure planet, Delirius. In ‘Rose’ he is trapped on a world of robotic junk and faces oppressive piracy in ‘Torquedara Varenkor: the Bridge over the Stars’. This comic was one of the hardest comics I've ever read, it was very hard to follow the story and the art style is to say the least extremely abstract, while its awesome to wander in the pictures for extended periods of time lost in details you lose touch with the story. He is accompanied by Mali, the daughter of his friend Yearl Martian, first in his travels to the destitute underground world of Delirius then to find Yearl and Lance, Mali's lover and then in the mission to save the inhabitants of Delirius from the spreading madness! When caught in a game of deceit and lies on the universe’s epicenter of pleasure Planet Delerious, the story only becomes increasingly epic in scope with each trot across the phenomenally vast landscape and its decadent environs.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. C'est également un hommage à Jacques Lob, grand auteur et ami de Druillet, qui avait commencé à travailler sur cet album avant sa disparition prématurée.His protagonist, Lone Sloane, is some kind of antihero, a warlord only intrested in himself and how he can rule the galaxies and are the instument of some dark Gods. Deeply crisped in the zeitgeist of the 70’s, the psychedelic feel of the era resonates across all areas of storytelling.
