Until scandal erupts in the nearby town of Saint-Sauver when its famous restaurant is downgraded from three ‘Michelin’ stars to two. Richard’s three ladies (hens; cluck-cluck) make a guest appearance but I hope they play a bigger role in the next installment. I have now read all three Follet Valley mysteries and I have to say that I have never ever read anything quite so entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny!

Death at the Chateau" is the third book in the hilarious Follet Valley Mystery series (following "Death and Croissants" and "Death and Fromage"), and this time we join Richard and Valérie as their private investigation agency is taking shape. If you fail to comply with this obligation, we may have a right of action against you for compensation. While in the first book Richard was a former cinematography professor who has opened a boutique hotel in France with his wife, which he had been left to run alone (except for his beloved flock of chickens and a grumbling housekeeper), and suddenly he has a new guest who has moved in without his knowledge while ignoring no pets clause, and he also has to find the missing guest and the murderer of his precious chicken .

Ian Moore's "A Follet Valley Mystery" 3 Books Collection Set delivers a delightful and immersive reading experience for mystery enthusiasts and lovers of the French countryside. Further dramatic deaths amongst the film's cast and crew muddy the waters as Richard and Valérie hurtle towards a deadly nighttime confrontation with the killer.

The story unfolds well, at a good pace, and Richard’s bumbling inner monologue (or the author’s narration of same) is funny, observational as the best bit of the books. To be honest, there is little else I would rather read at this time of year – you can almost feel the warmth of a languid late summer French afternoon radiating off the pages. A great summer read so, grab your cheese board, your grapes, sunglasses go and escape for a little while to the villages of France.

He and Valerie are still dancing around each other, and they still work well as a team -by accident rather than design they solve the case, it seems sometimes. Death at the Chateau is a rip-roaring read, with a great balance of British-style humour, character hi-jinks and intriguing plot twists. Death at the Chateau combined all my favourite bits of cosy mysteries; great characters, chaotic moments and hilarity! How this has not been snapped up by the BBC to be made into ‘Sunday Night Telly’ is beyond me, he’s even written a Christmas special!

This book was every bit of excitement and adventure that I was hoping for and as always an incredibly enjoyable experience. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Ian Moore has such an incredible way of building his world and the characters that live within it that makes everyone feel over the top and exaggerated but relatable. Richard and Valerie find themselves first intrigued and then investigating when the crew takes over the Chateau and bad things ensue. of our deliveries are made by Royal Mail as we think they give the best service and cover all areas of the UK.Registered address: Unit 31, Vulcan House Business Centre, Vulcan Road, Leicester, LE5 3EF, United kingdom.
