I completed the series, and I enjoyed it as light reading but it didn't really have any depth for me. He is of Yewbeam descent through his grandmother Grizelda Bone née Yewbeam and thus a distant cousin of both Manfred Bloor and Billy Raven. Also, he and Charlie are the only two children of the Red King that are descendants of Borlath, Amadis, and Amoret. I was so obsessed with this series that I was the kid who would go around recommending the books to anyone who would listen! I liked them all with perhaps the exception of Olivia - she was not a likable character in the least.

She disappears and Charlie Bone ultimately learns that her family is on the boat Greywing, rather than Lyell and Amy Bone, as Lord Grimwald and some of the Bloors mistakenly believe. She supports Charlie and his friends until inexplicably leaving Bloor Academy after the second book.
