Academies, Voluntary Aided, Foundation and Free Schools can set their own term dates and holidays, although most align their dates with ours. Unlike other basic calendars, this one has a cool color scheme which highlights the holidays for both 2022 and 2023. It is the responsibility of each school to notify its parents and staff of which dates have been identified for INSET days. Each year a total of 195 school days are identified and all schools can choose 5 INSET days which best suit them – pupils attend school for 190 days each year. Please see below the holiday frameworks that have been set by the Authority as guidance to Lancashire schools to cover the period of the Autumn Term 2022 to Summer Term 2026.

School term and holiday dates are determined in accordance with the legal requirement, which require that there should be 190 pupil days and 5 teacher available for work days (INSET days). Clerical Day for elementary schools, middle schools, K–12 schools, and standalone D75 programs; students in these schools do not attend.
