About this deal

Choice is as good a point to them as anything - they do what they're supposed to, they're smaller, cheaper, and look slightly easier and quicker to fit then Speedrockers - and some folk might just like the look of them. Finally, before we move onto performance, Ass Savers offers the Win Wing Gravel and Road in five colours each. This has been a godsend as I have accumulated more and more test bikes to ride and fitting anything more complicated (or permanent) on each would be too much of an effort. It’s a winter-conditions no-brainer for multi-terrain riding, if you want a minimalist gravel bike mudguard for rear-end protection. Read on to see why in this full Ass Savers Win Wing review, and then scroll to the bottom of the post to watch Neil’s complementary video review.

mm PP (Polypropylene),Wishbone holder - glassfiber reinforced PA (Polyamid or Nylon) and Strap - TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). My first knock against the Win Wing is the fact of the two Wishbone sizes, which I could also make an argument in favor of. This is handy because as anyone paying attention in GCSE or O-level physics will remember, that's the direction that things travel when they're thrown off a spinning object. Thanks to it's sophisticated simplicity and careful choice of materials, the Win-Wing is virtually indestructible.Moving on, to deploy the same idiom that Ass Savers uses in describing removable fenders in general, the ubiquity of plastic feels like a current necessary evil. Of course, I don’t blame Ass Savers for this but while there may have once been a “great future in plastics” I hope it quickly becomes a material relegated to the past. Thanks to its sophisticated simplicity and careful choice of materials, the Win-Wing is virtually indestructible. The Win Wing takes about half a minute to take off from one bike and attach to another - and while swapping it around I’ve noticed it’s also not scratched my seat stays (I would still recommend attaching a piece of frame protection tape as a precaution).

If you are very keen on maintaining that new bike look, please remember to install protective tape where your Win Wing is attached. If you're worried that you can't afford your dream bike or need to to upgrade your ride and want to spread the cost - we can help with a range of finance options; Klarna, V12 Finance, Clearpay, GiroPay, Bancontact, EPS, iDeal, EPS and Przelewy24. Multi tools are great for out and about, but when at home the extra length of a full Allen Key set is often a necessity.

As an experienced snapper with decades behind the lens, Russell has shot thousands of bike tests and features, but is an experienced rider and tester, too, putting gravel and MTB gear through its paces around Salisbury Plain and the Scottish Highlands. With with its compact and lightweight design, can the Ass Savers Win Wing hold up to the death mud found in Colorado’s high desert?

However, with the rotational direction and the fact that the straps act as flexible suspension for the Wishbone, I don’t see it being an issue, and I haven’t had any problems with it after several very rough dirt road and gravel rides.
