About this deal
I plan to try out some noodlers inks and in need of pens to try it with these pens have been earmarked for "sacrifice".
The one thing I wonder about is the clip - why on earth does the thing even have a clip, I can't imagine where it can be useful with this size.e. the pen-holder together with the nib) is longer than most conventional pens, which gives you more space to decide the position you are most comfortable with gripping the pen. As you can see, adding water had a huge impact, offering some fabulous creative opportunities if you’re interested in creating monochromatic pieces. To be fair, this is more down to the user than the pen and was easily avoided when the strokes were made with more attention. The Carbon Desk Pen and Rotring Art Pen are also very good fountain pens and a worthy alternative to more expensive fountain pens.
The ribs on the section are what really annoyed me in this pen, because these ribs cut very unpleasantly into my fingers. This is how the pen holder looks like on its own (the nib may be removed by unscrewing it from the top of the pen holder).
Now I'm using Pelikan's Brilliant Black and although it's not as vibrant as Rotring's own ink, it still isn't bad. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Get this pen or the cheaper DP-1000AN if you want to explore drawing with really needlepoint crisp lines. And I have a similar in white which came with a deskset (no trumpet, alas) with space for an inkwell.
