But achieving such a spirit was easier said than done; in all, it took Nick six months and more than 100 trial runs to create his incredible Apple Crumble Edition Gin. Instead, the Three Wrens team worked for six months to identify the perfect botanical blend to give them the taste of apple crumble in a hand-crafted gin.

Alongside juniper, this warming tipple boasts toasted oats, Cheshire apples, cinnamon and Demerara sugar among its botanical list. Three wrens apple crumble edition is distilled with juniper, toasted oats, Cheshire apples, cinnamon, Demerara sugar and orange peel. Nose Piney and subtly peppery juniper, paired with wafts of freshly baked ginger snaps and apple turnover.

After an intensive period of study, distillers courses, trial distillations and exams, Nick made the first batch of Three Wrens in June 2019, and knew he had made something truly special. Flavoured gins are often packed with sugar or artificial flavourings, which are added after the fact; alternatively, they’re categorised as ‘gin liqueurs’ and have very low ABVs. Be warned though this is so easy to drink we did not realise just how quickly we had finished off the bottle!
