About this deal

With a view to long-term usage, LG bundles the 27GR95QE with several systems designed to prevent burn-in, which can all be accessed from a dedicated menu activated from the remote. The highest level I recorded in HDR mode was 652 nits, again from a 5% swatch rather than the total screen area.

OLED and the stellar HDR experience it brings means you can enjoy games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Horizon Zero Dawn without missing out. As cheesy as it sounds, watching the sunset in New York City while sitting atop the Empire State Building in Spider-Man: Miles Morales was quite a sight. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. For starters, the battery slot on the remote requires a screwdriver to get open, and LG doesn’t include the coin battery you need to power the remote. The LG 27GR95QE-B and the Acer Predator X27U bmiipruzx use the same panel but have a few differences.

He's been covering games and tech for over ten years and has written for Dualshockers, WCCFtech, Tom's Guide, and a bunch of other places on the world wide web. Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. The two displays also have different screen finishes, as the C2 has a glossy finish with more reflections from strong light sources, but the matte finish on the 27GR95QE-B introduces haziness. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8/G85SB S34BG85 and the LG 27GR95QE-B are 1440p OLED gaming monitors with a few differences. Given the obvious benefits of OLED displays, such as superb motion handling and excellent HDR capabilities thanks to an infinite contrast ratio, you could be forgiven for asking why there aren’t more. Combined with the response time, motion clarity can reach the levels of a 360Hz panel, making it a great option for competitive games like Overwatch 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant.

In SDR mode, peak brightness registered at 404 nits from a 5% screen swatch against a black background. LG released this monitor alongside the LG 45GR95QE-B, which is another 240Hz OLED monitor that performs similarly, but it has a 45-inch ultrawide screen. With a single-pin Mini Jack, mono audio signals can be transmitted, with a two-pin stereo audio signals and with a three-pin stereo audio signals and image data can be transmitted.Expand the measurement area to the whole screen, and the brightness drops to around 160 nits over a sustained period. Meanwhile, the LG UltraFine Display Ergo AI, model 32UQ890, is able to adjust its position throughout the day with AI tracking to provide users with maximum ergonomic comfort. Firing off a Genshin Impact ultimate attack immediately dimmed the entire screen in a way I’ve never seen on my 65-inch LG OLED television. The monitor was supposed to offer beautiful colors but instead we have a constantly changing brightness (which also changes the color tones) and distortions at the edges. The LG 27GR95QE-B and the Dell Alienware AW2723DF are both 1440p gaming monitors with a native 240Hz refresh, although you can overclock the Dell to 280Hz.

While the brightness is a bummer, and the fact that you need the remote to mess up the settings, this is still one of the best looking and playing OLED gaming monitors that have come my way. The Dell Alienware AW3423DWF and the LG 27GR95QE-B are both 1440p OLED gaming monitors with a few differences. Without the firmware update the monitor in many games will divert to 120hz in full screen mode locking you out of 240hz . That was true even of the 120Hz OLED TV I tried to use as a monitor; this one runs at 240Hz, and it’s such a smooth experience. It also has wide viewing angles and decent ergonomics if you often need to share your screen with coworkers or clients. This leads to situations where turning down the brightness requires pressing the button 100 times to go from the brightest settings to the dimmest. It's great for sharing your screen with friends because it has wide viewing angles that make the image remain consistent from the sides. It’s not like I’d want a flash bang going off in-game to suddenly light the whole screen up at 1,000 nits (though some gamers might enjoy the realism).
