About this deal
The grade 304 Stainless Steel that these pins are crafted out of makes them the only choice for outdoor projects, and they’re also both economical and practical! These 23g headless pin nails are also available in stainless steel for the ultimate in rust protection.
I know I could use an 18-gauge nailer but I am wondering if I could get away with a pin nailer instead, since it'll be easier to pull the boards apart that way.Any other type of pin other than Stainless Steel will not withstand the outdoor elements or marine environments.
Pins tend to be headless and of a tiny gauge (diameter), which is not ideal for applications where holding power is needed. They are packed 10,000 to a plastic storage case and available in 7 lengths of 12, 18, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50mm. Then apply some super glue to the tape on one surface (and, usually an accelerant spray to the other surface). The comments below were added after this Forum discussion was archived as a Knowledge Base article ( add your comment). The 23 gauge micro pins are a handy tool for shooting on dentil teeth and fixing small splits but the nails being headless and very small will not hold any thing to heavy or under stress. I just did a pre-finished crown job and used one 1" 23 gauge pin in each end of pre-finished buff colored crown run of 6 feet simply to hold molding while Loctite hi grab adhesive set up.
