As such I would bet this amp does not meet the FCC Part rules section 15B which is a requirement by law and as such most likely is even illegal to distribute in the US. One is a passive 2in1 RCA switchbox with volume control which bleeds the two inputs and is thus unusable. It's a Douk audio rebrand from Weiliang Audio E600 which from my experience cannot do proper SE>BAL or BAL>SE, as well as having an out of phase XLR-4 output. This is interesting as I used a signal generator with my standard HD650 XLR-4 cable and looked at the phase on my Rigol DS1054 oscilocope and pin for pin the input and output are in phase. When I brought this to their attention, they sent me a new faceplate with "Nobsound" on it but no "E-600.
Filterless Class-D amps for the above reasons are usually only used in amplifiers of less than 5 Watts and also designs where the amplifier is mounted directly onto the speaker to avoid EMI issues. Normally tyhere is an output lowpass filter which removes those switching components and only leave the audio signal. On topic, I've also heard some excellent sounding Chinese gear like Ming-Da and Line Magnetic (have an LM dac myself) and have built gear using affordable (not cheap) Chinese line transformers, plate chokes etc. The cheapest amplifier with just analogue inputs that I would be willing to risk my money with is probably the 2x100 watt Sony STR130. Just check out Audio Space, Cayin, Prima Luna, Consonance, Mingda, Doge and Line Magnetic are all excellent. Rubbish Chinese amps like this one are getting rarer - the majority of them now have excellent build quality and aspire to be a hi-end product.The amp and speaker combination works really well with jazz/folk/accoustic music but can get a bit muddled with complex music like rock or orchestral music. Update: I just read Veri's and others' earlier comments in this forum re the poor performance of this amp. I have also enclosed a picture of the output waveform with a 4 Ohm load connected to one of the outputs when driving the amplifier with a sine signal.
