About this deal

In this way, the book is a reminder of our strong connection to nature and the importance of taking time out of our busy schedules to stop and listen to it as well as ourselves. If Moominland Midwinter is about a journey from a place of depression to one of hope and joy, Moominpappa at Sea is about acceptance.

The Moomins are imaginary creatures, who don't have jobs or schedules to follow, yet it is amazingly easy to relate to their experiences, particularly in this novel. I knew it when I was 10, I knew it when I was 18 and I'm still as sure now, at 24, after eagerly devouring the book in almost one go, yet again. I've read all Moomin books multiple times but Moominpappa at Sea remains my personal favourite and I can't even begin to tell you how happy I was to finally get my own copy which I was desperately trying to get hold of for years. Those of us who like to walk in the shadows, however, will most likely find this one an absolute delight.Aquí empieza el inicio del final de la historia de los Moomin en Moominvalley, por lo tanto te deja una sensación de tristeza. Moominsummer Madness is the transitional work and Moominpappa At Sea is the best of the later works.

Moominpappa at Sea (Swedish: Pappan och havet Literally: "The Father and the Sea") is the tenth in the series of Tove Jansson's Moomin books and the eight novel, published in 1965. Tove Jansson received many prestigious awards during her lifetime, including the international Hans Christian Andersen Medal. The story revolves around Moominpappa as he moves the family away from Moominvalley to a barren island where they live inside a lighthouse tower. The original title is likely a play on the 1952 short novel The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway.

When the Moomin family members need a change of scenery, they decide to take up residence in a lighthouse. In my opinion, Tove Jannson is the best children's author who ever lived and one of the ten greatest authors of the twentieth century.
