About this deal

The Argentinian version DVD (catalogue number 50999 5082759 6, distributed by EMI Odeon) contains the Eleven Promos DVD from 2002 (which corresponds to the first 11 videos of the DVD layer on the DualDisc distributed with other versions). s Mezzanine (containing the top 10 single " Teardrop") and 2003's 100th Window charted in the UK at number one. First (on a more philosophical side), I must say that my favourite band is The Prodigy, and with (or without?

It comes in a different packaging to the original Special Edition release and also ditches the DualDisc and instead has two seperate discs for CD2 and the Videos (which now comes on a DVD). This means that music from that piece of shit, the band's recent 100th Window, is more difficult to avoid; the anemic IDM drums and imitation- Kid A processed vocals of "Butterfly Caught" sound even worse when sandwiched between relative masterpieces like "Protection" and "Unfinished Sympathy".Meines Erachtens die ideale CD zum Arbeiten, zum chillen, aber auch für einen gediegenen Abend mit Freunden. There is a close second to this musical preference, it is Massive Attack, but I don't know the latter's discography with the same depth and I haven't known them for as much time (so I can't compare them on the lasting appeal). And finally, coming with the first CD there is a bonus CD of good previously-unreleased tracks (which I haven't spent much time on), the DVD of promo videos (which, like the CD side, I didn't spin too often yet), and a nice picture booklet. Notes: The tracks on this release are all edited snippets of the full songs, which explains the abbreviated duration times. On both discs the 3 letter abbreviations for each of the songs/ video tracks are running along the inner edge of the disc, with the rest of the disc being pure sliver with no title information on it beside basic copyright information.

This release was also used to promote Massive Attack's upcoming live appearance at the Summersonic Festival in Toyko and Osaka. Nicht nur, dass auf diesem Sampler ihre größten Hits "unfinished sympathy" und "teardrop" zu finden sind, sondern auch eine Reihe - vielleicht - eher unbekannterer Lieder. With my present musical knowledge and tastes, which are certainly greater than the ones of yesterday but lower than the ones of tomorrow, I can honestly say this is the best 'Best Of' compilation I own and have heard so far. These instrumental versions were made by EMI's Sync department to offer to film and TV studios as background or soundtrack music for their commercials or TV shows. That's why Hollywood has been pillaging the group's catalogue for more than a decade, using its songs to score Sharon Stone humping a Baldwin in Sliver or Brad Pitt's mom's trailer burning in Snatch.

Neil Davidge plays keyboards on tracks 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10, guitar on tracks 1, 4, and 6, bass on track 7, and provides backing vocals on track 4. Massive Attack's music brings back memories: not that crazy weekend you piled into a van and drove down to New Orleans for New Year's Eve, but those quiet and isolated instants, images that stuck in your mind for no reason, moments when your life started to feel like a movie.

Best version of the Massive Attack's collected, in a deluxe digipack with a beautiful booklet that contains a litle of each massive's albuns art made by names like Nick Knight, also contain a full collection of videos more complete that Massive's eleven promos, in this are more 5 videos (special cases, butterfly caught, live with me, live with me - alternative version and false flags).

A bonus disc of rarities rescues the crushingly claustrophobic electro-dub Mos Def collaboration "I Against I" from the Blade 2 soundtrack, but it's mostly given over to gloppy, dismal background fare, making it difficult to understand why it's here at all. There are so many many personal favourites on this compilation that it would be useless to name them: you just need to have a look at the tracklisting, most of it is made of my personal favourites. This CDR contains full length instrumental versions of all 14 tracks found on the Collected album, which were never made available anywhere else or haven't even leaked online to this day. The material on this site may not be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, cached or otherwise used, except with the prior written permission of Condé Nast.
