Of course being a love story and all, there had to be a happy ending, but Lulu deserves so much better than this guy man! It’s almost like he’s f*cking her and living in her home and all around making her think they’re in an exclusive relationship). I really think even setting aside my misconceptions, that this book would have been heaps more enjoyable if we were to watch Willem develop through a relationship with Allyson.There are also ->setDate() and ->setTime() methods which allow updating of the year, month and day, or the hour, minute and second. I FLOVED the beginning, I've never enjoyed a book so much at the start as I did this one, the middle kind of fell a wee bit flat but towards the end the author managed to close it up all nicely.

Well now I have … and you can guess it … it was "Just one Year" - while the End of "Stepbrother Dearest" will forever be burned in my Heart – Just one Year just took a close second because I love her books with leads that are in the YA area. I don’t know what it is about this author that’s been giving me such ambivalent feelings about her books of late. At first glance Keaton could be considered a bit closed off and standoffish, but she’s really a sincere and caring person, perfect for the complex, perceptive and charismatic Caleb. In addition, we got a chance to meet a carefully crafted secondary cast that pushes and pulls the novel in various directions steering the flow of the story in perfect cadence with Willem’s journey.Bram and Yael’s love story is legendary, encompassing their lives in such a way that Willem has always felt the odd one out. I expected to find out a bit about what had happened to Willem to cause him to disappear, but I also wanted to know what happened to Willem and Allyson once they found each other again!

Like all of Lainy's novels, the story raises a number of controversial/contemporary issues which are thought-provoking, as well as entertaining. Should Fassel balk at a one-year extension, it would leave open the possibility that he might coach with just one year left on his contract, a situation that both the team and the coach had hoped to avoid. Well, in his story we truly get to peel back the layers of this intricate character as we travel with him through the cities and streets of Amsterdam, Utrecht, Mexico, and Mumbai in a quest to find a girl he met one day in Paris. Every once in awhile there is a story that comes along and gives you "All the Feels" and Penelope Ward hit it out of the park with this novel about young love. I reread Just One Day, and I’m all confident and pleased because 2017-me loves a book that 2014-me loved.Set in lockdown England, Josie finds out, at 49, that she has just one year to live and starts to question her marriage, her role as a mother and even her relationship with her best friend; all of the people she holds nearest and dearest are going through their own private ordeals and dilemmas but has the pandemic driven them all so far apart that it turns out to be the worst year of her life?
