Would you prefer to remove the rear compressed air reservoir and shoot using only the front reservoir? i have the FX bracket and place mine directly under my LDC or barrel, about 2-4” back from end of muzzle. I seem to get od reading or no reading I have tried fitting near the muzzle and moving back 50mm or so to no effect. It's placed directly under the barrel with an attachment not dissimilar to the way a combro does with a couple of elastic bands. Seems very consistent as produced virtually identical readings with same charge and pellet on several consecutive strings.

Pity it cant cope with centrefire velocities as its far easier to use than my old temperamental Chrony.

FX also say the pellet is detected around 6-12 inches from the muzzel, and my backstop is 3ft from the muzzel, so it's certainly not yards away from it. Mine works perfectly on both my RWs, have you checked the setting on the FX - there are a number which are user changeable and you can set it up wrong if you mess with them, also check the pellet weight is correctly entered and your weighing the pellets for consistency.
