Dear Kafka, I just read your Jour Ensoleille review, which then led me here to this phenomenal and beautiful tribute to Fracas! The use of flowers in perfumes have been used since antiquity; from soft delicate flowers like freesia, muguet and blossoms, to narcotic flowers like jasmine, tuberose and gardenia. Cellier was a known eccentric and perfumer, which meant hanging out with Jean Cocteau and doing interesting perfumer things such as stealing models' underwear so that she could “smell the best of their femininity' (we're sure in French it sounds more charming and less like a Thursday afternoon at Dov Charney's house). These indoles are the reason why some people get the the impression of “rotting fruit,” sourness, urine, plastic, or Hawaiian flowers. The extrait version is said to be creamier, richer and more balanced than the louder eau de parfum version.

i really want to try this bc i heard courtney love wore it in the 90s but i dont want a soft basic floral, i want something that smells a little vintage.In fact, if heavy white scents give you a migraine, you should take a plane to the opposite side of the planet from whomever may be wearing Fracas. Fragrantica states that the matching body care products include: Silkening Body Wash (250ml), Silkening Body Lotion (250ml) and Silkening Body Crème (200ml). after a while i smell a creamy white flowers with a hint of fruit,it’s very strong perfume the projection is unbelievable. This is terribly out of date and out of touch with today's fragrances but all the more reason for me to appreciate it and wear it to be a non-conformist perfumista.

Tuberose, exuberant and seductive, nicely blends with pure, clear and intensive notes of jasmine, white narcissus, gardenia, lily of the valley and white iris, with a hint of orange blossom and violet embraced by sandalwood, vetiver and sensual musk in the base. You could also try possibly a sample set of Ormonde Jayne perfumes that they have on Surrender to Chance. In fleeting moments, I feel like I see a silhouette of a refined white floral; a voluptuous tuberose combined with a demure lily of the valley married to the powdery glamour of iris and violet harks back to a mid-century era where women were immaculately coiffed and put together. She certainly had a penchant for bold strokes and shock value, both of which are defining characteristics of Fracas—a perfume that could only have been made after World War II, and in my opinion, only by a woman.

All I smell is the sweetness of overripe flowers on the verge of decay with a little coumarin for added measure. I don’t think most women under 30 would be able to appreciate it also think it’s better suited for a more mature woman’s body chemistry. However , I do agree that Fracas is more similar to Madonna’s Truth or Dare which I actually prefer . I think that the colder periods will reinforce the character of this perfume, with in the background the memory of Poison.

Fracas is a thunderous tumult that catapults the viewer into an immense flower garden dominated by: tuberose, gardenia, lily of the valley, jasmine, osmanthus, narcissus, carnation, white iris, rose with an enchanting and reassuring base: amber, woody and musky. I wrote a letter on the Robert Piguet web site explaining my experience and asked them if it was a reformulation but got no reply. One of the most intriguing aspects about Fracas is its recent story: it was produced by historical " Robert Piguet Parfums" until the end of Seventies.It took a certain amount of time to completely re-orchestrate the scent, and finally to relaunch it, in 1998, with the prestigious label of the " original Fracas formula, certified by Givaudan". Perfume is all about having a party, having fun, going to new places and escaping every day to celebrate some exciting adventure!
