About this deal

Rachel and Kirsty are staying in Rainspell Island for their summer vacation, and after rescuing Ruby, Amber and Saffron/Sunny, the girls are heading to the tower when someone needs help - Fern the Green Fairy is stuck inside the tree trunk and she can't get out of it because of the frozen rainwater that was stuck. More fairy dust, smelling like fresh cut grass, sparkles in the air and leads the girls through an orchard, then a hedge maze, to a tree in the center of the maze. The animals were the big standout in this book, and my family really enjoyed that, even after seemingly accomplishing their task early in the book, there were a few unexpected twists and turns to make it fun. In the film, Fern didn't have much personality put into her character, but it did show her being very kind and gentle as she is in the books, she also had a slight Irish accent whih suited her character very well.

Both girls admire the lush plants and the crumbling old tower, although they’re disappointed to discover the tower door locked. She wears a light green long-sleeved stretchy top with leaf shapes around the neckline and around the waist, gold cuffs, and an emerald and gold wand. They’re surprised to see her so soon after sending the fireflies, so Fern explains how the various animals helped them, especially Fluffy - who it turns out has decided to follow them and move to the willow tree to be near his new friend. She was the fourth fairy to meet Rachel and Kirsty on Rainspell Island, 'Fern the Green fairy' is also the name of the fourth book in the Rainbow Magic series. That being said, I do think it stands out from the other books, set in a more unique part of the island and featuring an ensemble of woodland animals.

Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. I also get a lot of good suggestions for new fairies sent in by my readers, and sometimes if they're very good I use them as the basis for a new series.

The plots and themes become more complex in the later books, but this first series was the one that captured my kids' attention.

They love the The Rainbow Series and, with instructor support, it's appropriate for all reading levels. When Rachel and Kirsty meet on the ferry to Rainspell Island one summer holiday, they have no idea that such magical adventures with the fairies await them!Fern is happy to hear that three of her sisters are safe, and explains she’d hidden from goblins in the knothole only to become stuck when it froze over. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies. Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School.

It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies. Here is a library of books created by a community of parents and children where you can browse books that others have enjoyed and recommended.

After the first two books seemed unsure of where they wanted to go, books 3 and 4 introduce more obstacles, suspense, and humor.
