People who live with sleep problems or mental health conditions should speak with a mental health professional or sleep specialist before trying to induce lucid dreaming.

The reason that I found the last few books excruciating was the completely soppy and cringe worthy love stories. The premise of the story is right up my street - packed with dark supernatural beings, and given that this book is only around 35 pages long, this should have been a very enjoyable quick read. Maybe it's just me, but if you haven't read the Beautiful Creatures/Caster Chronicles series then I wouldn't suggest reading this novella. The GR blurb isn't really much of a blurb, so let me tell you quickly what to expect in this prequel.The authors ground their Caster world in the concrete, skillfully juxtaposing the arcane, magical world with Gatlin's normal southern lifestyle. In this paper I am doing my disciplinary duty by providing a deflating historical counterweight to the desire to overcome those last remaining obstacles on the path to a complete account.

The difficulties are deeply engrained not just in modern disciplinary thought but in cognition as such. I'll say that I ended up liking/appreciating Ridley in this short story, anyway, more than I expected, so I hope this will work out okay in spite of the unfortunate lack of Macon. The mystery of who was behind of everything bad that happened to the characters gripped my attention. I always feel better when I finish her stories, as they often validate some of my feelings and experiences.My feelings about the Caster Chronicles series that spawned this new Dangerous Creatures series were mixed, and I never got around to finishing the previous series after seeing some spoilers for the end of book 4. So until I read the Beautiful Creatures/Caster Chronicles series, which who knows when that will be, Dangerous Creatures will be sitting here collecting dust.
