For larger groups we can still obtain a high level of detail when studied closely and can rely on how light reflects on the completed bottles. A simple twist on the classic Old Fashioned, with local honey accentuating the honeyed richness of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old Whisky. After 12 years the fruity flavours are still bright and fresh, making this a great dram to enjoy year round or as a base for exciting cocktails.

Look out for interesting finishes such as Madeira or red wine that complement our house style perfectly. Bolstered by plenty of Aberfeldy's signature honeyed fruit character, this makes for a superbly laid-back sipper. Full flavour, the perfume characteristics become more spicy, with a bitter hint of Seville oranges in a decidedly dry finish. Poppped into the distillery early on in December 2023 and had a wee nip at the bar before deciding I’d like to savour the experience. I may not have bought a bottle of this in a long time, but I have had an empty tube on my shelf for years.One could arguably be best served by smelling a glass of Aberfeldy 12 for the duration of a sitting, and then leaving without tasting any. In 2000, the Earl of Elgin opened "Dewar's World of Whisky" at the Aberfeldy Distillery: this is a centre for marketing the products and educating the public about the process of distillation and history of the Dewar's brand.
