About this deal

Persephone really doesn’t know about any of this in A Touch of Ruin but it does catch up with her in the next book. Prepare for a breathtaking conclusion that will leave you utterly captivated until the very last page. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! But, while you’re reading about Percy, Annabeth and Grover go on quests, you’re actually being exposed to a lot of the core gods, monsters and myths of Greek mythology.

But finds out Hades had made a bet with Aphrodite that he couldn’t make someone fall in love with him in 6 months. However, her whole life (before college), she was kept in a glass house or greenhouse and never got to experience the world. Even knowing the myth of Persephone and Hades, this book is filled with imagination and I really enjoyed the urban setting (although it took me a bit to get used to). This book was full of smaller story lines, and introduced a few moving pieces which will surely climax (no pun intended) in the final instalment of this series. For a week every seven years, 9 of the 12 Olympians are sent to earth and turned mortal, and the bloodlines of many greek heroes such as Perseus, Kadmos and Heracles hunt down the gods and if you kill them, you become the new god and assume their power.

From here, I would then recommend The Library of Greek Mythology (also known as Bibliotheca) by Pseudo-Apollodorus. But let me be clear—I am Persephone, future Queen of the Underworld, Lady of Your Fate—may you come to dread my presence. It gets a SLIGHT pass in this story, since Hades is literally a god and can literally see into people's souls, but it's still pretty skeevy.

There is so much going on with the other gods and Olympians with an uprising from a group of demi-gods who want to bring down the gods. Although I should’ve learned this last year with A Court of Thorns and Roses or Throne of Glass, but I was less serious about being bookish last year. I think the biggest thing that struck me in this book is how far some of the characters (Persephone, Hades and Apollo) have come. The A Touch of Darkness series was born in part because of her obsession with Greek Mythology and the afterlife.A Touch of Malice” began like in the same way as “ A Touch of Ruin” and I thought it would be very difficult to follow and to finish it. A Touch of Darkness is a retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone, but Scarlett has brought it into an urban setting. But her assassination attempt is thwarted, and Adrian threatens that if Isolde tries to kill him again, he will raise her as the undead. I definitely should have done book reviews after each of these books instead of doing one for all of these books now, but lesson learned for future series that I begin!
