About this deal

In this article, we’ll show you exactly how to remove and clean both filters. We’ll also give you some tips for maintaining your Shark CH950UKT and keeping it in top condition. How to Clean the Shark CH950UKT Filters Step 1: Remove The Canister From the Vacuum Body The first step is to remove the vacuum canister and cleaning head from the main body. To do this, there is a yellow button on the underside of the vacuum. You’ll get up to ten minutes of run time, which is perfect for on on-the-spot cleaning. And, the no-fade Lithium-ion battery ensures lasting power and performance. There’s also a handy battery light indicator which lets you know when the power is low. Shark Accessories

The Shark Handvac CH950UKT is an excellent handheld vacuum cleaner. It doesn’t come with many advanced features and it’s not the most convenient handheld, but when it comes to cleaning performance we think it’s amongst the best around.Replace the filters in the frame, the frame into the dust cup, and the dust cup onto the main vacuum body. Let’s start by clarifying that the Shark Handvac isn’t supposed to replace your main cleaner. It’s intended for short bursts of cleaning, so it doesn’t need the same level of performance as an upright or cordless vacuum. The Shark CH950UKT is a cordless handheld vacuum that’s designed to complement your corded vacuum cleaner, rather than replace it. We found that it’s a great tool for spot cleaning when you don’t want to get out your full-size vac, but the 10-minute run-time makes it unsuitable for longer cleaning sessions. Who should consider buying the Handvac? And how does it compare to other handheld vacuums? Keep reading our Shark Handvac CH950UKT review to find out. Overview of the Shark CH950UKT Handvac’s Features As you would expect from a handheld vacuum, the Handvac has a simple design with an easy-grip rear handle. Shark has also kept it lightweight at 1.39kg (similar to the 1.38kg Dyson V7 Trigger,) which means it’s convenient to use and suitable for people with arthritis or hand pain.

Shark Cordless HandVac CH950UKT review - Which?

We also liked how painless it is to swap the attachments over. Everything slides onto the main nozzle without any complicated push-button systems, although the pet attachment has some extra pins to power the motorised brush. We think the Dyson has more powerful suction and all-round superior cleaning performance. But it’s one of the most expensive handheld cleaners on the market, unlike the budget Shark vac. It’s also bulkier than the CH950UKT. The Shark’s filtration system does an acceptable job at preventing dust and dirt from escaping, although it’s not the most effective or hygienic we’ve tested. There are a couple of cheaper models (CH900/CH901 – both without the “Plus” in the name) that are available from some retailers but come with fewer tools and in different colors. We’re impressed with how much you get for your money when you factor in the suction power and motorised pet tool. With all that suction you're going to be needing to empty the dust cup regularly. This is easy, just make sure you hold the vacuum over the bin when you press the empty button otherwise the debris will go everywhere.

The Dyson V7 Trigger is another handheld vacuum alternative to the Shark CH950UKT. They’re almost identical in weight with the Dyson a fraction lighter at 1.38kg Vs 1.39kg for the Shark. But Dyson has managed to get a larger 0.54 litre dust canister and a bigger, better battery. You also can’t remove the brush bar from the pet tool, which makes removing hair more difficult. Additionally, there’s no option to remove and replace the battery. The Shark HandVac CH950UKT has a two-part filter, which can be accessed by removing the dust cup from the main body of the vacuum cleaner. Cleaning both filters is important to maintain airflow through your vacuum and prevent suction loss.Press this button, then gently pull the canister away from the vacuum’s handle. It should slide easily out of place. We found the dusting brush useful for more delicate surfaces, although we felt that the fibres were stiffer than we would like. Be careful when using the dusting brush on very delicate surfaces, as the bristles could cause small scratches. On the other hand, the WV200UK’s pet tool isn’t motorised, unlike the CH950UKT. This makes the CH950UKT a better option for pet hair and stubborn dirt. For example, the dual foam filters need to be pulled out by hand, rather than removing them using a plastic frame. This means you need to touch the dirty filters, while also disturbing dust into the air, before you can clean them.

There’s no doubt that the Shark CH950UKT is amongst the best handhelds on the market, but it’s not perfect. One of our biggest complaints is that it’s not as easy to maintain as other handheld options. If you want the strongest suction you’d have to opt for the Dyson V7 Trigger, which pulls through a lot more air than the Shark can muster. The Shark is also a bit fiddly to hold and the Hoover H-Handy 700 is better at offering a wand-like grip, although its smaller bin can’t hold as much dirt, while the Gtech Multi MK2 K9 has a more balanced feel in the hand. One of the standout features of the Shark CH950UKT is the mini motorised pet tool that clips onto the main nozzle. This has a rotating bristle brush that’s effective at getting out pet hair from carpets, upholstery, and other soft furnishings. You don't have permission to access "http://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-classic-handheld-pet-vacuum-ch950ukt-zidCH950UKT" on this server. Home Electricals - Dry:Soon Heated Airers - Heated Blankets & Mattress Protectors - Fans & Heaters - Coffee Machines - Kettles - Toasters For what you can realistically expect from a vacuum of this size and power, the Shark CH950UKT performs admirably, and considering its handy form factor, it’s easy to have on hand to clear up any mess before it gets worked in. Both of these are handheld vacuum cleaners from Shark, but they are built for very different purposes. Note: In the CH950UKT manual, Shark specifically mentions that you shouldn’t use a hair dryer (or any other drying tool) to speed up the process. The filters should only be air-dried. Step 5: Re-Assemble The CH950UKT
