Otherwise, it has the same tech and the same key strengths as the iO Series 6 and iO Series 9, giving you a smoother brush with less vibration than the older Genius models, yet still delivering an excellent ‘fresh from the dentists’ clean. You also get the same pressure sensor and timer, the same two weeks plus battery life, and the same OLED display and app-connected features. Given that the differences between this brush and the Series 9 are minor, the Series 8 makes a pretty strong case for itself as the best Oral-B brush to buy. The idea behind this connectivity is to essentially be a little like having a dentist or hygienist looking over your shoulder saying good, bad, brush for longer, you missed a bit. It is about education for better cleaning rather than telling you that you have got it all wrong.
Personally, I feel that Philips Sonicare offer the more premium looking and feeling products, the good news is the overall build quality and reliability of Oral-B products are very good. Smart 6 6000W is the whitening version, I would not recommend buying this one. It comes with 2 x 3D White brush heads and 1 x crossaction.It has five different cleaning modes, including Gum Care, Whitening and Sensitive and comes with three replacement oscillating brush heads, a handy travel case and a charging base via which you top up its lithium-ion battery. It is by no means a new addition, but one reason why Oral-B is one of the market leaders is that research has shown that their rounded, oscillating and rotating brush heads are very effective at cleaning the teeth. The Oral-B Smart 6 6000 comes in 3 different versions, all of which have the same electric toothbrush handle. The main difference is between the brush heads that come as standard in the box. If using the app at the same time as brushing, the screen on the app will also illuminate red and tell you to reduce the pressure should you apply too much to the teeth.
The crossaction brush head has 16 degree angulation of bristles which allow you to clean effectively around the gum margins. Also the brush head is small and round which allows the brush to access difficult teeth easily. It also has indicator bristles which give you an indication as to when the brush head needs changing. I would recommend changing your brush head every 3 months. Cleaning Modes Smart 6 6000N is the most common version and comes with the 1 x crossaction, 1 x sensitive and 1 x 3D white brush head as standard. Kids/Junior series: Variations of the Vitality, Pro and Smart Series brushes aimed at kids and teens. Often slightly smaller and featuring favourite characters or more colourful designs. If you are very friendly with your dentist then I am sure they will help, although I suspect not all will be too worried about seeing your cleaning history as they can often tell, just by looking. Oral-B themselves say over 2 weeks, but it would seem (subject to usage) that you could be well on your way to 3 weeks.

Yes it most certainly is. This means that it can be cleaned with water and also be used in the shower if you so wish. Is the Oral-B Smart 6 6000 noisy? Given the company’s size, history and experience the battery life has generally been inferior to the competition, with many models only boasting a 7 day life. The Oral-B Smart 6 6000 comes with 5 cleaning modes which is the same number as the more expensive Oral-B Genius 8000. It comes with daily clean, sensitive, gum care, pro-clean and whitening. I would recommend putting the brush in daily clean mode for most people because it is the best regular use brushing action and lasts for 2 minutes. The sensitive mode is good for people who have sensitive teeth and can be combined with using a sensitive brush head. What is known as a quad-pacer that is built into the Smart 6, will at 30 second intervals pause the motion of the brush head briefly to give you the notification you need to change quadrant. The LED smart Ring also flashes. This happens at 30 second intervals, up until the 2 minutes where you get 3 brief pauses in the brush head motion and 3 LED flashes, to tell you to stop. The brush itself features pressure sensor control to ensure you’re not going too wild on your gums and Oral-B says that the uniquely designed round brush heads remove up to 100% more plaque than traditional alternatives. The handle is slightly larger than the cheaper models in the Oral-B range giving a chunkier feel. This means that the handle is slightly heavier weighing in at around 132 g. This is still light enough to use the electric toothbrush easily. Quadpacer 2 minute timer All brush heads made by Oral-B feature something known as fading/indicator bristles. Blue in colour, over the 3 month period in which a brush should be used, they fade in colour to a white/translucent colour, acting as a reminder to replace the head.No the Oral-B Smart 6 6000 is not particularly noisy for an electric toothbrush however this is subjective. If you have just moved from a manual toothbrush expect any electric toothbrush to be noisier. You will notice this less and less as you continue to use an electric toothbrush. That battery lasted 67 minutes during our testing, so assuming you brush twice a day for the recommended two minutes, you should get a fortnight’s worth of use before needing to recharge it. The base of the brush is sealed but has a recess into which the prong on the charging stand fits to charge the brush. Interestingly, the Genius modes, the theoretically more premium and expensive, only manage 12 days.
